Making Connections in our community.
Thank you to all those who participated in our ‘Making Con-nections’ Weekend last week.
If any parishioner has not completed a Parish Connection Card, we invite you to complete one today and return to the parish office or place on the collection plate.
This parish initiative is for ALL parishioners - old & new and allows the parish leadership to design and plan meaningful ways to be relevant as ‘Church’ and as a people of welcome. It also assists the parish office to update Parishioner records.
Our aim is that all parishioners complete a Connection Card this year.

Vicar General Father Philip Marshall
Fr Philip Marshall and Mrs Teresa Lynch will begin our Parish Visit-ation today. Fr Philip will celebrate Masses with us and both will join parishioners for a cuppa after each of the Masses this weekend.
Funeral
We extend sympathy to the family of Vincenzo De Candia, of Wol-lowra Cres, Largs North, whose funeral will be at OLV on Tuesday morning.

Rosary Group
Please note that the Rosary Group at West Lakes Church, Bartley Tce. will meet on Wednesday at 11.00am this week, not Monday, due to the visitation by the Archbish-op. All welcome.
Child Protection Sunday
Child Protec-tion Sunday next week-end will high-
light the preventative efforts of the Church and others in our society in the area of child abuse.
Every Catholic is invited to be part of making the future safer for children than has been the case in the past. Pope Francis wrote: “Families need to know that the church is making every effort to protect their children. They should also know that they have every right to turn to the church with full confidence, for it is a safe and secure home.”
As a parish we celebrate all we do to ensure that we provide safe environ-ments in our parish for children and young people.
As well, we need to be ready to re-port any suspicions of child abuse (be it sexual, physical or emotional) on the Child Abuse Report Line 13 14 78.
September Catholic Charities Appeal
The Catholic Charities Appeal has commenced. Make sure you have taken a brochure/envelope in which to place your donations and return to the 2nd collection plate this month.
Keep in mind Our Lady of La Vang at Flinders Park, a beautiful new school with excellent facilities offering a Specialist Educa-tion for Students with Intellectual Disability.
