Can you spend a half hour with Jesus? First Friday is April 7th. Please sign up for Eucharistic Adoration. The sign up sheet will be in the vestibule of the Church. Adorers are needed from 1pm through 7pm at half hour intervals.

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT

REMINDER-50/50 RAFFLE TO SUPPORT SA-CRED HEART PARISH-Envelopes will now be located in the vestibule of the Church. All it takes is $5.00 and you could be a winner. Congratulations to our February winner, Mrs. Angela Sincarori. Con-gratulations Angie! The prize was $395. The next drawing will be on March 27 after the 8:30am Mass.

The Sacred Heart Seniors will meet on Thursday, March 9th at 11AM in the Church basement. We will be collecting for the following: Tuesday-Thursday April 25-27-Lancaster & Sands Casino-Two shows in Lancaster-Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre (My Fair Lady) and American Music Theatre (Vegas Legends). Sands Casino dinner at the Steel Works Buffet and $40 free play. Kitchen Kettle Vil-lage local shopping in Lancaster and shopping at the outlets at the Sands. The cost is $415 per person twin, $534 per person single, $405 per person triple. Insur-ance is available at $34 per person. Final payment is due by March 9th meeting. Tuesday, April 18th- Sacred Heart Seniors will cele-brate our 48th Anniversary in the School Auditorium from Noon to 4 PM. We will have a sit down lunch-eon of Pot Roast or Chicken with music, wine, beer, soda and water. The cost is $35.00.

ABSTINENCE from meat to be observed by all Catholics 14 years and older on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and on all Fridays of Lent. FASTING is to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all Catholics who are 18 year of age but not yet 59. Those who are bound by this may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are per-mitted, if necessary, according to one’s needs. No eating between meals, only water is permitted. STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be held every Friday during Lent at 7:30PM with the exception of First Fridays March 3rd and April 7th.

PLEASE TAKE A NAIL TO REMIND US OF CHRIST’S SUFFERING AND ALSO OUR DE-SIRE TO DO OR NOT TO DO SOMETHING IN LENT TO HELP MAKE THIS SACRIFICE WORTHWHILE. KEEP THIS NAIL UNTIL GOOD FRIDAY WHEN IT WILL BE USED AT THE GOOD FRIDAY LITURGY.

DURING LENT NO FLOWERS ARE TO BE BROUGHT INTO CHURCH OR LEFT AT ANY OF THE HOLY SHRINES.

In order to show prominence and honor to our Ameri-can and Papal flags, they will be displayed in the hanging position from the Choir Loft in the center of the Church beginning the first week of Lent.

RCIA RITE OF SENDING TO ELECTION On this First Sunday of Lent, we are celebrating the Rite of Sending to Election for our RCIA Catechu-men Andrea Sencion. She is entering the final period of preparation on her journey to full initiation in the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil. We ask you to keep her and her family in your prayers as she pre-pares during these final forty days of Lent.

Today is the first Sunday in Lent and our second grad-ers will be celebrating at the 9:30 Mass. Following the Mass there will be a Proximate Preparation Meeting for the students. Our World's Finest Chocolate Drive comes to an end on Monday. Oh my, I hope you got your fill. There might still be some chocolate at the school, so stop by to make a purchase. “First Friday” Mass will take place on March 10th at 8:30 AM due to the fact that school was not in session on March 3rd. Please join us as we celebrate the Mass hosted by the eighth grade. Following the Mass, March birthdays will be announced and certificates for February’s Student of the Month will be awarded. Italian Night at Sacred Heart will take place on Satur-day, March 11th. It’s a San Gennaro style Italian Feast. There will be plenty of yummy food, games and enter-tainment for the children. It’s a fun night for the whole family. We are now registering new families for grades Nursery (3 year olds) to grade 6 for next September. The end of year Hot Dog and Gift Party will be held on Thursday, March 9 at 7pm in the Gym. All players and cheerleaders grades 3-8 are welcome.
