Sacred Heart Mission Statement Sacred Heart Catholic School will provide a Christ-centered atmosphere to assist parents in forming compassionate children who grow in loving God and neighbor as they live their faith. Sacred Heart Catholic Church Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time ~ September 1, 2019 From Sacred Heart School Office: The school year is off to a great start. We have exceeded our enrollment goal with 105 students enrolled, which is up 9% from last year and is a 16% increase from the last two years. Sacred Heart met all the requirements of last year's Diocesan and State assessments! Excellent work students and teachers! The Kindergarten science curriculum has been updated and we are establishing a rotation to keep resources current. The schools next curriculum update will be a new math series in 2020- 2021. This summer our school building received some updates. The old heating system and air conditioning systems have been replaced with more efficient units. New LED lights have been installed and electrical upgrades have taken place. School has a newly remodeled school office and learning space where the library used to be. The new library and art room has been moved across the hall where the old computer lab was located. The remodeled library has newly painted walls and shelves and a new sink and tables. Sacred Heart now has a digital sign in the school’s foyer where we can display events and information about our wonderful school. I truly feel great things are happening here at Sacred Heart Catholic school, which I can attribute to the dedication of teachers, staff, parents, parishioners, and students. L.E.A.D: September 28, Church of the Holy Spirit

Goddard. The Diocesan Catholic Youth Board invites you

to join them for a day of leadership training. LEAD is for

all parish youth board members and those youth interested

in becoming leaders, along with their adult chaperones.

Middle School Youth Conference: Nov. 9, Kapaun Mt.

Carmel. All 6th - 8th grade youth, their chaperones and

parents are invited to attend. This will be a great retreat

experience for all middle school students receiving the

Sacrament of Confirmation with guest speakers Chris

Padgett and Noelle Garcia. Cost is $29 and will include

lunch, snacks, music, inflatables and a T-shirt. Mark your

CLAY: Nov. 2, St. Anthony Garden Plain. Christ's Light in

All Youth is a one day retreat for high school freshmen and

sophomores. CLAY uses videos, activities and creative

forms of prayer to impact the spiritual lives of its

candidates. You will examine, in a hands-on way, how God

TEC: Oct. 12-14, Spiritual Life Center. Teens Encounter

Christ is a 3 day retreat for juniors, seniors and college

students based on the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ. TEC

Knights of Columbus News

Our next regular meeting will be Monday,

September 9th, 2019 at 7:30 PM.

Knight and Family of the Month Council #2614 would like to congratulate Michael Metzinger

for being selected Knight / Family of the Month for July

2019. Michael has been a Knight for 44 years and is

currently a Third Degree Knight. Michael has been a Past

Grand Knight just as his father and grandfather have been

Past Grand Knights for Council #2614. Michael has recently

worked many hours helping to remove the old heating

system in the school building. He is often assisting with

mowing and trimming. In the winter months he assists with

snow removal when needed on the premises. He is one of

many Knights that are handymen for our parish. Michael and

his wife Jamilee are both Extraordinary Ministers and active

with church cleaning. Jamilee is currently overseeing the

church cleaning schedule and supplies. They continue to

show and teach our Catholic faith in their actions and

example. Michael and Jamilee have 4 adult sons: Matthew,

Patrick, Christopher and Andrew. Each of them show the

special blessings in their careers and activities thanks to their

hardworking parents. Congratulations to Michael Metzinger

and his family on being selected for Knight and Family of

the Month for July 2019.

Mensaje de la Oficina de la Escuela de El Sagrado Corazón:

El año escolar ha tenido un gran inicio. Hemos excedido nuestras metas de inscripciones con 105 estudiantes inscritos lo que

representa un 9% más que el año pasado y es un 16% mayor que los dos últimos años. ¡El Sagrado Corazón alcanza todos los

requerimientos de asignaturas Diocesanas y del Estado del año pasado! ¡Trabajo Excelente de estudiantes y maestros! El

currículo de ciencias de Kindergarden ha sido actualizado y estamos estableciendo una rotación para mantener los recursos

actualizados. La próxima actualización del curriculum para las escuelas será una nueva serie en matemáticas en el ciclo 2020 a

2021.

Este verano nuestro edificio de la escuela recibió algunas actualizaciones. Los sistemas viejos de calefacción y aire

acondicionado han sido reemplazados con unidades más eficientes. Nuevas luces LED han sido instaladas y muchas unidades

eléctricas se han actualizado también. La Escuela tienen una oficina nueva remodelada y los espacios de enseñanza en donde

estaba la biblioteca. Un nuevo cuarto para la biblioteca y arte ha sido cambiado enfrente del pasillo donde el laboratorio viejo de

computación estaba anteriormente. La biblioteca remodelada tiene pintura nueva en las paredes y nuevos anaqueles un lavabo y

mesas nuevas. El Sagrado Corazón ahora tiene un sistema de registro de entrada digital en la entrada de la escuela en donde

podemos exhibir eventos e información de nuestra maravillosa escuela. Verdaderamente me siento muy bien de que tantas cosas

estén pasando aquí en La Escuela Católica de El Sagrado Corazón, a lo que puedo atribuirle la dedicación de maestros,

trabajadores, padres, parroquianos y estudiantes. También me gustaría dar mi sincero agradecimiento a los parroquianos de El

Sagrado Corazón. Muchas Gracias por su generosidad por ser colaboradores de los dones de Dios.
