NEWS FROM THE FALL FESTIVAL

It’s been a couple of weeks now since our wonderful Festival has ended. However, due to the unexpected incident, we have unfinished business pending: the raf-fle draw! After discussing this matter with the Festival Coordina-tor, we decided that we will hold our raffle on Dec 12th, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This will allow time to sell the remaining unsold tickets to help recover some of our lost income from the fiesta’s unexpected event. Additional fiesta news: the evaluation and appreciation day for the volunteers will take place on Wednesday, Nov 13th at 7pm in the Ministry Center. We ask you to please mark your calendar for this activity and we high-ly encourage you to attend. The date for next year’s Fall Festival will be Oct 9, 10 & 11, 2020!

NOTICIAS DEL FESTIVAL DE OTOÑO

Han pasado un par de semanas desde que terminó nuestro maravilloso Festival. Sin embargo, debido al incidente inesperado, tenemos asuntos pendientes: ¡el sorteo!

Después de discutir este asunto con el Coordinador del Festival, decidimos celebrar el sorteo el 12 de di-ciembre, la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Esto dará tiempo para vender los boletos no vendidos restantes para ayudar a recuperar parte de nuestros ingresos perdidos del evento inesperado de la fiesta.

Noticias adicionales de la fiesta: el día de evaluación y agradecimiento para los voluntarios se llevará a ca-bo el miércoles 13 de noviembre a las 7pm en el Cen-tro del Ministerio. Le pedimos que marque su calen-dario para esta actividad y le recomendamos que asis-ta

CALLED TO RENEW COMMITMENT WEEKENDS

Next weekends, Nov. 2nd & 3rd, Nov. 9th & 10th, during the Masses we will give every parish family an opportunity to participate in the Called to Renew campaign. Your support

is very important. We hope your will take some time during the coming week, to review the materials that have been sent to you, to discuss it with your family, and to take some time in prayer to discern how best you can support our cam-paign. Then, come to Mass next weekend prepares to give us your final decision.

Fifty-percent of all funds raised up to the goal will remain with our parish. And if we go over goal, 100% of funds col-lected above goal will go to our parish. This really is a win-win situation for our parish, but we need your help. Here is what we plan to do with the money:

LLAMADOS A RENOVAR

FIN DE SEMANA DE PROESAS

En los próximos fin de semana, 2-3 de noviembre y 9-10 de noviembre, le ofreceremos a cada familia parroquial la oportunidad de participar en la campaña Llamados a Reno-var en todas las Misas. Su apoyo es muy importante. Espe-ramos que en el curso de la próxima semana se tomen un tiempo para revisar los materiales que se les han enviado, para comentarlos con su familia y también para discernir en oración cual es la mejor manera en la que ustedes pueden apoyar a nuestra compaña. Después, vengan a Misa el pró-ximo fin de semana, preparados para presentarnos su deci-sión final.

El cincuenta por ciento de todos los fondos recaudados den-tro de nuestra meta permanecerán en nuestra parroquia. Y si superamos la meta, el 100% de los fondos recaudados por encima de ella se destinara a nuestra parroquia, pero necesi-tamos su ayuda. Esto es lo que planeamos hacer con el dine-ro:

DONACIÓN DE SANGRE

La Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón, a través de los esfuerzos del Concilio de Caballeros de Colón

No. 13929, patrocina Donación de Sangre. La Cruz Roja Americana vendrá a nuestra Iglesia en busca de donantes de sangre el domingo, 3 de noviembre, de 9 am a 3 pm en el Salon Parroquial. Le pedimos que considere esta apelación porque existe una necesidad constante de sangre. Entonces, ¡ayuda donando sangre hoy!

Requisitos:

1. Estar bien de salud 2. Traer una identificación con foto válida 3. Peso por lo menos 110 libras. 4. Beber mucho líquido 5. Comer una comida nutritiva 6. Todos los tatuajes deben tener al menos un año

de edad 7. Tener al menos 16 años de edad

MASS FOR THE DEAD

The envelopes for the poor Souls in Purgatory are now available in the vestibule and in the Parish Office. Write the names of your dead loved ones and remem-ber them in our Novena of Masses from November 2nd to November 11th. Please return the envelopes to the Parish Office, or it can be deposit in the baskets during the collects. The donation is $5 per each de-ceased.

BLOOD DRIVE

Sacred Heart Church, through the efforts of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 13929, spon-sors Blood Drive. The American Red Cross is

coming to our Church for blood donors on Sunday, Nov 3rd, from 9am to 3pm at the Ministry Center, Room 4. We ask you to please consider this appeal for there is a constant need for blood. So, help by donating blood today!

Requirements: 1. Be in good health

2. Bring a valid photo ID 3. Weight at least 110 lbs. 4. Drink plenty of fluids 5. Eat a nutritious meal

6. All tattoos must be at least one year old 7. Be at least 16 years old, with Parental Consent

Our community of faith prays for the healing of all those who have been abused

As members of the Catholic community, each of us can contribute to the healing of those harmed by abuse, especially by remembering victim-survivors in our prayers. We pray for those harmed by someone, whether in church, family, school or community, con-fident that healing is possible, and mindful that we can all work to prevent further abuse. Inspired by the vi-sion of a victim-survivor, the Archdiocese of Los An-geles has created a prayer and information card as a tangible symbol of outreach and support to those in need. Please join in this effort and our shared hope that the resources and prayer on the card will reach those in need to bring the healing light of Christ to the darkest places of pain. The bilingual prayer card and posters, including information on how to report abuse, have been distributed to all parishes and are available for download at archla.org/support.

I am pleased to give you a quick update on our “Called to Renew” campaign. After successful weeks, Sacred Heart surpasses goal. So far, we have collected $464,600, which is 112% of our $415.000 goal. Now, the parish will receive 100% of each dol-lar collected above goal. This is a tremendous oppor-tunity for our parish to expand and strengthen our ministries and programs. The greater goal is to bring the parish community together for a greater cause. Great job, A-Team!

«La gracia propia del Sacramento del Matrimonio está destinada a perfeccionar el amor de los cónyuges, a fortalecer su unidad indisoluble. Por medio de esta gracia se ayudan mutuamente a santificarse con la vida matrimonial conyugal y en la acogida y educa-ción de los hijos (CIC 1640) En nuestra parroquia, realizamos una vez al año, al-rededor de febrero 2018, una celebración Eucarística en dónde en una sola misa varias parejas, que están viviendo en unión libre o están casadas solamente por la corte por más de 5 años, reciben el Sacramento del Matrimonio después de un tiempo de preparación. Después de que reciben el sacramento, los invitamos a involucrar con el Encuentro Matrimonial, y se reúnen una vez a la semana para dialogar sobre los retos que han enfrentado en esta nueva etapa de su vida y cómo la Iglesia nos orienta para resolverlos.
