    SACHIN TENDULKAR – THE MAESTRO OF ODI CRICKET The 39-year-old legend, who announced his retirement from One-Day Internationals on Sunday, made his debut against Pakistan in Gujranwala on December 18, 1989. Incidentally, Tendulkar played his last match against the same team in Mirpur (March 18, 2012).

    Tendulkar scored his maiden hundred in his 79th match

    He holds the world record for most number of matches (463), most runs (18,426), most centuries (49), and most fifties (96)

    Tendulkar has bagged the most number of ‘man of the match’ (62) and ‘man of the series’ (15) awards

    He has had the longest career-span: 22 years and 91 days

    Between April 1990 and April ’98, Tendulkar played 185 consecu- tive matches – a world record

    He has played on 96 different grounds, the most by any player

    The right-hander was the first player to reach 10,000, 11,000, 12,000, and 13,000 runs. He is the only player to have scored more than 14,000 runs
