SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS MEDIA GUIDE 2017 SEASON 127 GOLDMINE After a deadly tornado swept through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, OK, in 2013, Bell used social media to spread the word about housing spaces and volunteered at a local church, passing out food and drinks to those affected by the tornado. Bell was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 43rd round (1,303rd overall) in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft and is one of two players on the current roster to be drafted in both the NFL and MLB, along with QB Colin Kaepernick. Named the Bob Kalsu Award winner for the University of Oklaho- ma football team as a senior in 2014. Kalsu was an All-American offensive tackle in 1967 who courageously gave his life in 1970 serving the U.S. Army.
