This piece is inspired by the sense of natural harmony of Newyorker artist Richard Tuttle. It might sound organic, meditative.

I chose seven octagons that he made to compose

the seven movements of TuttleHead. Irregular octagons whose 8 angles make a total of 1080, what is translated in 1080 per movement.

This is an excerpt to be played by the Jack Quartet in NYU on May 1st 2011.

The whole piece will include a video-art.

- The musical discourse has no pulses or metric accents

- Barlines mean just guides or meeting points.

- No vibrato, just sounds as pure as possible.

Con moto, = 60

In this movement, the sounds have no pitch. The clef shows the four strings, and a tetragram

(strings) substitutes the staff. The strings are stopped by the left hand, so that there's no other sound

but the bow fretting; in these movements, the left hand will be placed on the strings at their high

range (H), close to the bridge, or their low range (L), close to the tuning pegs.
