Post Graduate Program for Executives (MBIC) – Managing Business in India & China IIM Shillong’sPGPEx course continues to be the preferred program to recruit mid to senior level professionals in areas viz. construction, infrastructure development, IT Consulting, Finance, Operations, Electronics, Power, HR, Business Consulting and Entertainment with firms increasing their usual number of offers every year.

The team’s efforts in terms of doing extensive outreach program with Corporates, maintaining and developing relationships with both existing and new companies has resulted in a successful placement season. This testifies recruiters’ confidence in the PGPEx MBIC program and the institute. We are thankful to all our recruiting partners! The 6th batch of PGPEx (Managing Business in India & China), graduated on April 6th, 2019. The batch had an average of 6 years of industry experience. This year total 20 participants signed in for placement assistance, 3 students have opted out from the placement process due to their interest and going back to their parent organization. Placement Committee with due support from the institute could facilitate in placing 15 students through on-campus process and 4 got job offers off campus. The Placement process commenced during the first week of September 2018

at Shillong Campus. Organizations conduct recruitment process for PGPEx students that spread over several months allowing students and recruiters an equal opportunity to interact with each other and find their desired fit. Placement office also supports and encourages students in their independent job search efforts to find their preferred careers. Institute received an overwhelming response from industry to recruit from PGPEx.

Recruiters from various sectors made their presence in the placement process through campus and off campus drives. Candidates were primarily hired for various middle and senior level management positions across various geographies in India and abroad. Offers were made across the board for strategic roles such as Consulting, Product Management, Operations, Business Development, Analytics, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Project and Programme Management. Some of the new recruiters this time include Xiaomi, Travel Designer Group, etc. to name a few.

Placement in IIM Shillong is a student driven activity. IIM Shillong strives to assist the Placement Committee in all forms for corporate engagements- be it in India or in China. The Institute experienced vibrant placement activities during the last few years.
