Your holiday starts the moment you step on board. Check-in on the train and relax with a drink in the Outback Explorer Lounge up to 90 minutes before your journey at selected train stations. Make yourself comfortable, and meet your host and fellow travellers.
Flexible Dining Whether you’re up with the sun – determined not to miss a minute of your trip – or a lover of the lie-in, breakfast is available between 6am and 10am. This allows you to savour the first meal of the day at your own pace. Dining reservations are available in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant. Book for a long lunch or an intimate late dinner for two. The Queen Adelaide Restaurant serves regional Australian
cuisine, with changing menus to reflect the best produce and flavours of the countryside you’re passing through. Wines are chosen to compliment these local specialities. All standard wines, beer, soft drinks and spirits are included with your Platinum and Gold Service fares.
Off Train Excursions Take advantage of the Off Train Excursions and experience the unique destinations along the way. Discover why these places make an Australian rail holiday a truly unique and inspiring journey. All Off Train Excursions are included in your rail fare. (conditions apply)
On The Ghan there’s time to take a tour of the Outback town of Alice Springs, explore an oasis of history, indigenous culture and natural beauty. Choose from one of two included excursions that explore this region including a tour of Alice Springs Desert Park or Alice Explorer town tour. In the Top End, you’ll witness the splendour of Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Choose one of three included excursions that will give you access to hear from some of the region’s most knowledgeable guides and enjoy cuisine inspired by the flavours of the Outback.
The Off Train Excursion tours on the Indian Pacific have been designed to discover the culture and history of the destinations Broken Hill, Adelaide, Cook and Kalgoorlie, which you will visit on your journey. Explore the heritage and culture of the ‘Silver City’, Broken Hill and indulge in an abundance of food, wine and history in the elegant South Australian capital of Adelaide.

Gold Service Whether travelling on The Ghan or the Indian Pacific, Gold Service includes everything you would expect from a great train adventure. From the welcome drink in the lounge to the meals in the Queen Adelaide restaurant, Gold Service offers rail travel in style.
Choose from Twin or Single Sleeper Cabins, or for a little extra style, space and comfort, the Superior Cabin is twice the size of a Gold Twin Cabin. Extra features in the Superior Cabin include a small double bed and private lounge area, television with a selection of DVDs. Access to the Outback Explorer Lounge is included in the Gold Service fare and is ideal for socialising, relaxing, reading or just enjoying the passing scenery.
