Prayer to St. Joseph from Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter “Patris corde

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen.

Pope Francis has declared Dec. 8, 2020 to Dec. 8, 2021 the Year of St. Joseph. In the Apostolic Letter making the declaration he included a prayer to St. Joseph. We will

be closing the Rosary before Mass with this prayer.

“Hail, Full of Grace (Three Hail Marys)” on YouTube

Tim Newland’s Song, “Hail, Full of Grace (Three Hail Marys)” is now available on You tube at https://youtu.be/

Camp Re-New-All

For over 40 years, Catholic children and young people have attended Camp Re-NEW-All, learning about God, themselves, and what it means to be Catholic. Our belief is that campers deepen their relationship with God while interacting with other campers and staff members, surrounded by the beauty and nature of southern Missouri. Campers can grow in their Catholic faith, aided by the Sacraments and age-appropriate religious formation. Other fun activities include sports, swimming, crafts and music. Camp is for children going into the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade following the camp season. There are 3 sessions held at Camp St. Vincent in Fredericktown and 5 sessions at Roaring River State Park’s Camp Smokey, in Cassville. Adult staff (age 18 and above as of the first day of the camp session), and high school staff (entering grades 10-12 in fall) serve along with priests and seminarians as counselors, activities directors and support staff.

Sign-up on the diocese website www.dioscg.org/camp-re-new-all/or look for informational brochure in the Parish Hall.

Pope Francis March Prayer Intention

Sacrament of Reconciliation Let us pray that we may experience the sacrament

of reconciliation with renewed depth, to taste the infinite mercy of God.

Bishop Rice’s March Prayer Intention

That St. Joseph, Universal Patron of the Church, will protect and guide all families within the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.

Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11, 2021 Mark your calendar now!

Steve Angrisano is one of the most effective and versatile ministry leaders in the Catholic Church today. Steve’s unique blend of humor, song, story and interaction engages audiences of all ages. Since the pandemic started, Steve

has been singing/praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy each day on Facebook at 3:00pm to mark the day with prayer.

Steve will be at St. Mary’s, Joplin, on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11, for the 10:00am Mass, where he will be assisting with the music. Immediately following Mass, he will be with us from about

11:00am-1:00pm to talk about and share his passion, pray and sing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, among other things!

Please make plans to join us. You won’t want to miss this opportunity! Masks will be required, and socially distanced seating will be available.

Please join Bishop Rice on March 27 via Livestream at 9am

on FB @CCSOMO or @DioceseofSpringfieldCapeGirardeau.

In lieu of Bishop’s Walk to pray, raise funds, and awareness of the work of Catholic Charities of

Southern Missouri.

Thank you for being our partner in ministry!

Is a Cursillo Retreat for You?

Cursillo is a recognized movement in the Catholic Church, having received canonical recognition by the Holy See. A Cursilo is an encounter with Christ. It is a Spanish word meaning “short course,” so a Cursillo is a short course in Christianity. Many who have attended a Cursillo weekend have attested to having a powerful, spirit-filled Catholic experience which often sparked conversion in their lives.

There is an upcoming Men’s retreat weekend on the west side of the diocese on April 22-25. The next Cursillo opportunity for men and women on the west side will be sometime this fall. The location for the retreat is the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer Monastery in Carthage, MO.

Registration may be found on our diocesan website at http://dioscg.org/index.php/cursillo2/. Each applicant will need to list a sponsor (a previous Cursillo retreatant) on their registration form. If you are uncertain who in your parish has attended, list your parish priest as your sponsor. More information about the National Cursillo Movement can be found on their website: https://www.natl-cursillo.org/.

Consider stepping through the narrow gate. Cursillo may provide the encounter you are looking for.
