Pall expands Indian technical support centre

Pall India Pvt Ltd has officially opened its extended Scientific Laboratory Services (SLS) Technical Support Centre in Bangalore, India.

Established in 2006, the Pall India SLS Technical Support Centre now has over 60% more validation and testing capacity to support the process development needs of its customers across a range of industries, including India’s growing biopharmaceutical sector.

The expanded facility also houses a training centre.

“Investment in this SLS Technical Support Centre to establish a premier filter validation facility represents a strong commitment from Pall Corporation towards solving the diverse and complex filtration and separation challenges of our customers in the South Asia region. Donaldson extends test labs at Minnesota HQDonaldson Co Inc is undertaking a US$10 million expansion of its testing laboratories at its Bloomington, Minnesota corporate headquarters.

The expansions, which are expected to be fully operational in 2014, will improve Donaldson’s capabilities for testing filter performance in real world environments, factoring in multiple variables at one time such as temperature, humidity, vibration, pulsation and flow as well as various contaminants. Donaldson says that this will

allow the company’s in-house scientists and engineers to speed up development time and decrease costs, while increasing product effectiveness and reliability.

“These expanded testing capabilities augment our 10 international laboratories, affirming our commitment to innovation and our global Strategic Growth Plan,” said Sheila Peyraud, Donaldson’s vice president and chief technology officer.

New start for PORAL filtration productsHaving been acquired by TMC earlier this year from Federal Mogul Corp, French sintered metallurgy products company Sintertech is now focusing on new developments in its core business: powder metallurgy and its many industrial applications.

Sintertech portfolio company PORAL develops and

manufactures a range of high-performance metal sintered porous filters. PORAL products are offered in bronze, stainless steels or Ni-alloys as discs, plates, cones, candles or cartridges. They can be used in corrosive environments, under high temperatures or pressures.

RWL Water adds to portfolio with Argentinian acquisitionRWL Water Group is acquiring a majority stake in the Argentinian water treatment company Unitek SA.

Headquartered in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Unitek has been producing standard and custom solutions for water treatment and reuse since 1993. The engineering project developer applies membrane-based technologies including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and membrane bioreactors for applications ranging from the demineralization of seawater to the reuse of wastewater and has more than 700 pieces of equipment installed in South, Central and North America.

Unitek joins RWL Water portfolio companies Aeromix, Eurotec WTT and Nirosoft.

“We are very excited that Unitek, which fits so perfectly with the RWL Water culture and technology, has agreed in principle to join forces with us. When completed, the addition of Unitek will provide us with the credibility, expertise and speed to respond to almost any water treatment need for our customers in Latin America,” said Henry Charrabé, president and CEO of RWL Water.

When the deal closes, Unitek will be majority-owned by RWL Water. Unitek’s founders will retain a minority equity interest and continue to grow the business as RWL Water partners in their current positions with the Argentinian company.
