Who is Phonics for?

• Phonics is being taught from Nursery to Year 2.

• Children are in groups with others of the same reading ability. This means lessons are focussed on their needs and children can progress at their own rate.

• Phonics and RWI is being used in Year 2 to encourage accurate spelling, develop reading fluency and reading comprehension.

• The books used in each group are then used as a stimulus for writing at the end of the week.

Story telling – ways to improve interaction and develop language

Join inMTYT – children repeat parts of the story.

Which word?Provide two words for the children to choose from.E.g. Is the troll vexed or happy?
