(i) the division had an anti-aircraft battery in 1939, an anti-aircraft battalion in 1940, none under the July 1941 organisation, one 37mm battery under the January 1942 organisation. [It is unclear whether the pre-1941 battery/ies was of 37mm guns or AAMG]. By the February 1943 organisation the AA battery comprised 3 platoons of DShK AAMG RU-26.1. (j) Divisions also included recon elements and other supporting troops but these would tend to operate independently of the cavalry regiment. In 1939 the cavalry division had a mechanised regiment, modified to a tank regiment before 1941. Deleted during 1941 a small tank regiment was added in 1943.
