WELCOME
Russian Art Week is a bi-annual event which takes place in June and November. The major auction houses of Bonhams, Christie’s, MacDougall’s and Sotheby’s all join together to present a series of Russian sales in London. Several Russian exhibitions and related cultural events also take place.
We hope you enjoy our guide to this major event. We aim to provide you with comprehensive listings of all sales, events and a directory of Russian auction houses, galleries, dealers and specialist institutions.
Our week this year also acts as a warm up event to the upcoming UK-Russia Year of Culture in 2014. We look forward to seeing the cultural programme that the British Council and Russian Embassy have organised. With events ranging from ballet and theatre to film and literature, next year will be an exciting time for Russian art and culture across the country.

Since the very beginning of the Modern Movement, in the early years of the 20th century, Russia has been famous for the creativity of its female artists.
The exhibition at Murray Edwards College’s New Hall Art Collection, curated by Sergei Reviakin and Edward Lucie-Smith will feature work by artists living in Russia itself, inBritain, and in Western Europe.
Following its display in Cambridgethe exhibition will transfer to the Albemarle Gallery in London during January 2014.
This show will promote the uniquely vibrant and culturally rich artwork of Russia to new audiences, raising the profile of these artists in the international art world.
