Project Specific Information

Project Goals• Safety

– Improve rural intersection safety.

• Quality– Design and construct a quality project with quality personnel.

• Innovation– Allow innovative ideas to improve quality.– Add additional intersections as more funding becomes available.

• Stakeholders– Create a quality product that gains acceptance by local government partners.

• Schedule and Budget– Complete initial (20) intersections by November 1, 2013– Complete the project within budget.

Submitter Experience• Experience with designing signals, signing, and lighting on highway

projects.

• Experience with construction of signals, signing, and lighting on highway projects.

• Experience with the design of similar RICWS systems.

• Experience with the construction of similar RICWS systems.

• Experience as a prime contractor on transportation projects with a contract value of at least $2 million.

Project Management Approach• Approach to selecting a systems component supplier

• Approach to managing a statewide project from a central location

• Approach to managing and coordinating the design with MnDOT

• Approach to servicing the installations during the warranty period

Other Requirements• Legal and Financial Pass/Fail

• Bonding – anticipated bonding requirement up to $3 million
