XI 3.0 RWB – Component Monitoring

Monitoring of ABAP and Java components

Central viewing of component‘s connection status in a specific domain.

Central overview of component‘s parameter settings.

Ping of system and sending of messages to components via a self-test area.

Component Monitoring can also be started by a special CCMS Alert Monitor which monitors individual XI Components.

Component Monitoring: Example

SAP AG 2003, Title of Presentation, Speaker Name / 8

Component Monitoring: Features

Selecting associated information: For ABAP components, specific configuration parameters are displayed as defined in Tr: SXMB_ADM. For Java components, system settings as well as Aii-Properties are displayed as defined in the exchange profile

Two different views: XI components can be displayed either in Table or Tree format.

Table View displays all the XI components maintained in the System Landscape Directory, their current CCMS status, and the name and type of the component.

Tree View sorts the components by component type

XI 3.0 RWB – Message Monitoring

Based on SAP standard monitoring solutions

Offering end-to-end message monitoring

Track Status & Errors of XI Messages

XI 3.0 RWB – End-to-End Monitoring/Configuration

Monitor the path of individual messages through the components, from start to end.

XI end-to-end process produced as a result of the setting done in the central configuration of TPM.

SAP AG 2003, Title of Presentation, Speaker Name / 13

End-To-End Monitoring: Example

Principle of TPM

TPM (Technical Process Monitoring) Transaction code: SPIS Based on PMI (Process Monitoring Infrastructure), a

tool provided by SAP to monitor and analyze integrated processes involving multiple components:

Web based user interface that can be integrated in other applications

Displays process flow graphically Displays aggregated performance figures Displays current status of processes, and process steps Displays detailed information of a process instance (XML

message)

SAP AG 2003, Title of Presentation, Speaker Name / 15

End-To-End Monitoring: Process Overview

Choose status symbol or attributes (e.g. warning, error, success) to display corresponding process instances

SAP AG 2003, Title of Presentation, Speaker Name / 16

End-To-End Monitoring: Instance View

Switch to instance view for message-specific tracking information
