Title: Stormy Weather SilhouetteTags: stormy weather, hillside silhouette, cloud patterns

My Comments: These were two different types of shots, but I really like the look of the first shot because it reminds me of a European countryside. When I tried to find the name of the trees, I got a lot of images of Scotland and Ireland. I think the lines of red trees heading up to the fog rolling in create an interesting image. It is actually an image out in the countryside in Colombia near a river in a small town. In the other shot, I played with the light and exposure to get the silhouette and depth in the picture.

The value of this assignment was in being aware of the conditions of the weather around you and trying to see the light and atmosphere in an unusual way to create a good image. It gives you the opportunity to play with exposures and lighting but you have to be quick as the images don't stay around very long! It only takes a minute for a rainbow to fade and a cloud to move, so you have to know how your camera works and how to adjust it quickly.
