Personal Reflection about RubricsUsing rubrics with its different variations I feel what great changes it had on my students. They generally feel more secure working while having a rubric to the given task. Not only because the task seems clearer, but also because they feel fairly treated and they feel that they are being involved in the assessment process of their own work.It also enhances their sense of independence and their metacognition skills.
SUMMARYRubrics are a set of
criteria that define the quality level of any
activity, task or product. They make the
expectations of any task transparent, define quality, set the focus, provide a framework
for feedback, and work well in groupings. There
are two types of rubrics. A holistic rubric that evaluates an entire
product as a whole. And the analytic rubric
is one that helps by evaluating a product for different traits.
