The Precon ST-S*E and ST-S*EW Series ExecutiveRoom Sensors provide precision room temperaturesensing for building automation systems. The activesensing element is made of a highly stable, precisionthermistor material or platinum RTD.

Though the sensor itself does not require shielded cable, some controllers and microprocessors do; check with the controller supplier.

Toggle bolts or other direct wall-mount screws can be used where conduit isnot required. Adapters are not required when mounting directly to electricaloutlet boxes.Basic model comes with screw terminal block, white decorator faceplate, two#6-32 screws for handibox mounting, and two #6 x 1" screws for direct wallmounting. Cover screws are #6-32 with a 1/16 allen key head.

The Duct Temperature application is designed for directmounting on sheet metal duct systems. The sensor is pointsensitive and comes standard with a 4-7/8" (12.38 cm) inser-tion depth. The XL option is available for custom lengths up to36" (91.44 cm). The Immersion Temperature application is designed to bethreaded directly into a 1/8" NPT well. The wells are availablein brass or 304 stainless steel and are designed for pipe inser-tion using a 1/2" threaded saddle (Thredolet). MountingDrill a 5/8" (1.6 cm) hole for probe insertion and serpentine the sensor across the duct, turning at each end using theModel M-648 end clip and Model M-633 mid-duct support.Avoid kinking the tube as this could cause a short circuit.Using the provided #6 screws, secure the box to the ducteither with the mounting ears or through the box holes.

WiringTerminate with butt splices or soldering. (Wire nutsare not recommended.) Use the full 8' (2.4m) lead lengthprovided to avoid moisture migration from the field connection.

The thermowells are designed with close tolerances,eliminating the need for thermal grease under normalconditions. Each well is designed so that the sensorassembly can be easily removed after installation. Thewell screws into a 1/2" FNPT saddle (or Thredolet fit-ting) furnished by the installing contractor.
