OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Whilst planning and system installation are critical elements to successful solar energy projects, Edison Energy alsoprovides system operations, maintenance and monitoring. We only install Tier 1 quality components. That ensures avery low rate of component failure. Reactive maintenance and system analyst teams are at hand to quickly resolve anycomponent failure that may arise. Our system analysts observe and notify the Edison Energy reactive repairs divisionof any defects, allowing for speed of response to upkeep performance of all systems. Our online monitoring ofsystems, through our dedicated portal, provides information on systems performance, energy generation and revenuereports. We will provide annual system inspections as well as our online daily monitoring. With system registration andautomatic application for Feed-in Tariff payments, you can take confidence in Edison Energy to deliver your solarinstallations, as well as your 20 year monitoring. We guarantee that all our installed systems will be operational at least98% of the time to ensure maximum benefit to tenants.

KNOWES HOUSING ASSOCIATION

THE PROJECTOur relationship with Knowes Housing Association has seen the completion of Edison Energy’s large-scale project delivery to install over 4000 Solar PV panels to theirproperty portfolio.

THE INVESTMENT MODELWith an investor backed option, delivered through Edison Energy, a total of 350 houses have benefited from systems ranging in size from 2kWp-4kWp, offering a sustainableapproach for the tenant’s energy provisions. In addition to the tenant properties we also worked with the Housing Association to deliver solar energy solutions for twocommercial properties including the Knowes Housing Association Office.

PROJECT INFORMATIONCarried out over a number of phases, the project has seen 350 homes benefit from our Solar PV Systems, with around 3,500 panels being installed. The project is alreadyshowing tangible results with our solutions not only addressing the impact felt by those most at risk of fuel poverty, but also providing platforms for financial assistance revenuefor both tenant and Housing Association. Further to the Solar PV installations, Edison Energy have also delivered our most recent phased project for Knowes HousingAssociation and its tenants, in carrying out an extensive external wall installation programme to over 100 properties including private home owners.

Working in partnership, Edison Energy and Knowes Housing Association have created better energy efficient homes, that also deliver tangible cost savings and revenueopportunity.

PROJECT RESULTSOur expertise, through our skilled people and sustainable energy options, made this large-scale development a success, delivering within agreed timescales and service levelagreements. From consultation to planning and installation, as well as finance options and aftercare service, Edison Energy will work in partnership with the Housing Providerand its tenants for the next 20 years. The results are evident; systems generating 875kWp generation, a carbon reduction saving of 300 C02 and £160,000 in Feed-In-TariffRevenue generated per annum.

COMMONWEALTH GAMESATHLETES VILLAGE

THE PROJECTIn the summer of 2014 the city of Glasgow was a successful and proud host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. As part of this event, the facility to create accommodationfor all those participating was to develop the Athletes Village. The creation of a legacy after the Games of providing sustainable housing for local people within the area hasbeen exciting. This development and project is one that Edison Energy has been delighted to be involved with and deliver.

THE INVESTMENT MODELOur involvement has seen over 700 sustainable energy homes delivered with over 4000 Solar PV panels installed. Through Investor models, the legacy of our delivery willprovide tenants with free electricity from the day of installation. Working in partnership with various construction organisations, the Village and its legacy will answerGovernment objectives for carbon reduction, the Green Agenda and improve housing as well as addressing fuel poverty and creating sustainable homes for its tenants.

SYSTEM INFORMATIONWith the Games now over the 700 properties have been adapted and transferred to Thenue Housing Association, West of Scotland Housing Association and Glasgow HousingAssociation as well as 300 private owners. We look forward to continuing to deliver our service to all 700 properties and ensuring that every householder continues to benefitfrom the free electricity. 4,200 panels, generating 1,000 kWp generation and offering a 350 C02 carbon saving, is as successful as the games were.

Further to the delivery and installation, Edison Energy will provide maintenance and system analysis services. Trust in our delivery for this project was driven by the Games’principles, through the Scottish Government’s backing, that Edison Energy’s Solar PV offering, at no cost, was best in the marketplace. Through our people’s expertise andworking with the best in market quality components, we offer confidence in our systems, delivery and aftercare, as well as maximum system efficiency.

PROJECT RESULTSThe standard of living and energy efficiency within the homes in the Athlete’s Village, is something that many House Builders, Social Landlords and Housing Associations strivefor. The project has been very well received and discussed within tenants, Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise, as well as the media.

With a Feed-In-Tariff generating £135,000 per annum, the success of this project will continue for many years to come.

THE PROJECTOakapple Berwickshire has been set up to own and manage Solar PV systems which will be installed on domestic rooftops across Berwickshire. The project will becomprised of a portfolio of up to 749 roof-mounted Solar PV systems, which will be delivered by Edison Energy, with a total capacity of 2,595kW. The properties are all socialhousing owned by Berwickshire Housing Association located across Berwickshire, including Duns, Eyemouth and Coldstream. Oakapple Berwickshire will earn revenuesfrom the Government's Feed-in Tariff scheme.

THE INVESTMENT MODELThe project investment model is being delivered through a crowd funding partnership with Abundance Generation, crowd funding platform. The Oakapple Berwickshireproject is looking to raise up to £3.1m and is being developed in partnership by Oakapple Renewable Energy and Edison Energy. The management teams of bothorganisations bring considerable experience of roof-top solar PV projects and this is the second project for Oakapple Renewable Energy on the Abundance platform.

SYSTEM INFORMATIONCovering 750 homes, there will be in the region of 10,500 panels installed. The combined panels and system will generate around 2,600kW, with an average 875 C02 carbonsaving being delivered. As the largest Community roof top Solar PV project in Europe of it’s kind and the system and strategy of the project is one that will become an aspirationfor many others.

Berwickshire Housing Association and the tenants of the social housing have nothing to pay to have the solar panels installed. The social housing tenants can use as much ofthe electricity from their solar panels as they need, for free. This will assist significantly in reducing electricity bills for home owners by around 20-30%.

PROJECT RESULTSThe project is currently underway, with investors supporting and the community excited by the benefits the project will bring. A completion date of spring 2015 is expected andall indications to date are showing that the systems and panels will contribute to combat fuel poverty and deliver an energy efficient community, embracing energyindependence.
