We introduced the Contrast Cut fi nish to the custom bike industry in 2006 and it has become a hugely popular style. We helped to create a performance niche’ in the V-Twin industry that many have come to replicate and adapt as their own. This giant machine simulates a load on a tire/wheel assembly while taking miles and miles of road with the occasional beating. The wheel is forced to endure

countless rotations with one fl aw sending the design back to the drawing board.

Each RSD wheel, pulley, and brake rotor is manufactured in the state-of-the-art Performance Machine facility in Southern California. PM has the reputation of producing the highest quality product on the market today – which makes RSD no different. Each RSD wheel is designed and engineered to exacting standards and thoroughly tested at the PM in-house facility – the only in-house testing facility like it in the U.S.A. RSD tests to strict world-wide standards such as JASO and TUV.

Our wheels begin as aerospace quality, billet aluminum forgings that place the highest material strength in the same direction as the operating load, creating a light and strong wheel. From there, our talented staff of designers, including Roland himself, creates the array of styles you see on our bikes throughout this catalog using CAD design software. Each wheel design and size must pass all of our testing standards before it is delivered to your local Drag Specialties dealer for installation.

This test simulates starting and stopping, as well as the occasional burn out. Load sensitive rams cycle back and forth replicating real world style

torture in an attempt to rip the hub out of the rim.


This massive testing unit simulates the pot holes and road hazards that a wheel is subjected to in the real world. We wrap each and every wheel

size and design with a tire and replicate a hard edged hit; the wheel must retain air pressure for a specifi c time in order to pass.

We’ve replicated the incredible stress a wheel is subjected to during cornering. You can trust your RSD wheels will withstand those canyon roads and track days because they’ve come out of

our simulated side load test unscathed.

BU-HELLIt’s amazing how much effort it takes to get some machines on the road. When you pound every piece of sheet metal, hand machine every mount and form every chromoly tube, the time really starts to add up. We started with a motor on a frame table and ended with what you see here. 120 HP Buell revving to 7500RPM paired with nearly stock Buell geometry means serious fun in the corners as well as the straights. The bike features a host of experimental RSD products with the Turbo wheels and matching components, triple clamp set, headlight and foot controls, as well as full Ohlins suspension front and rear. For us, rotor design is more than just mimicking the look of our wheels, its both science and art. Its taking all that we have learned through the years

and improving upon it. We design each rotor from the ground up and analyze every detail’s function

along the way. Our two-piece design allows the rotor to expand and contract when heated from

the friction caused by the brake pad. The aerated portholes on the stainless steel outer band vent

heat and dust away from the disc.

Where others see trash we see treasure. We wanted a café sporty on the cheap so we set about fi nding a crashed bike we could build as budget minded as possible. We started with the bars or lack of them, by adding clip ons, removed all the junk on top of the triples, and prototyped a cool instrument cluster and headlight relocation piece that moves the headlight and gauges down. We also prototyped a key and coil relocation piece to get rid of all the plastic under the gas tank. We then threw on her all the RSD product we had, fi xed the tank, chopped the rear fender and painted her on the cheap. For under 10K we brought her back to life and she’s better then ever. VENTURI RAIN SOCK OIL TUBE RETROFIT KITFor those of you who do a ton of miles in the rain we recommend our new RSD Venturi Rain Sock. While not a necessity for riding in the rain with our Air cleaner it can help reduce fi lter saturation in a heavy down pour.

If you already own an RSD Venturi air cleaner and notice any oil dripping from the bottom of the fi lter element, this FREE kit cleans up the pesky problem. We have found that some engines make excessive crankcase pressure causing them to spew a bit

more oil than others up through the breathers. We don’t ever like to see anybody with oil dripping onto their bike so we addressed this problem as soon as we noticed it. This retrofi t kit consists of

slotted-head breather bolts and injection molded rubber tubes that fi t securely into the backing plate of your existing air cleaner.

These parts help to route any oil, coming out of your breathers, right back into your engine without spilling a drop.

In an effort to further push the functional element of custom choppers we have taken the best elements of the Softail and expanded it. Outlaws, outcasts, rebels and derelicts, we’ve been called worse. So what’s worse then a biker or a skateboarder, how about both smashed together? When pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler from the MTV show the Life of Ryan was looking for a reliable custom, he gave us a shout and we delivered the Sheckler Special. She started life as a 07 Softail Standard and was molded into this rustic yet refi ned machine you see here. RECOMMENDED WHEEL MAINTENANCEChrome Wheels:Cleaning:Clean your wheels often, this will remove contaminates that eat your chrome and will extend the life of the chrome many years. Never use chemical cleaners, instead use mild soap and water and a soft cloth to clean the wheels.

Waxing:High speed and long distances on dirty roads can have the same effect as sandblasting your wheels and a good coat of wax is their only protection. We recommend Carnuba type wax applied often with a soft cloth after each ride.

Contrast Cut Wheels:Clean and Care of Black Anodized Finish:Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners that can destroy the black anodized fi nish. You may use a non-abrasive wax on the black anodized portion of the product to protect it. Never use a harsh or abrasive wax as it will remove the black anodized fi nish.Clean and Care of Milled Area on Standard Contrast Cut Products:Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners. To remove stains on the milled area you may use the following methods depending upon the condition of the wheel.A mild MAG polish will remove mild stains from the milled area, but will make the milled area shiny as it contains some abrasives. CAUTION: Take extreme care not to use this on the black ano surface of any product as it will remove the black fi nish.

Scotch bright can be used to remove more severe stains on the milled area. CAUTION: Measures should be taken up to and including masking to ensure that the black ano surface of any product is not damaged.

Contrast Cut Platinum:Clean and Care of Polished Surface on Contrast Cut Platinum Products:

The polished area can dull after being exposed to dirt, chemicals and pollutants. You can use a high quality aliminum polish to revive the luster of the aluminum. Make sure to completely protect the black anodized portion of the wheel, up to and including masking, to ensure that the black anodized surface is not damaged.

RECOMMENDED PRODUCT MAINTENANCE

Chrome Accessories:

Wash with mild soap and water, use a healthy coat of Carnuba wax, apply often with a soft cloth.

Black Anodized Accessories:

Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners that can destroy the black anodized fi nish. You may use a non-abrasive wax with UV protectant on the black anodized portion of the product to protect it. Never use a harsh or abrasive wax as it will remove the black anodized fi nish. Avoid exposure to UV rays whenever possible.

WARRANTY COVERAGEIf your Performance Machine, Inc. product is defective in material or workmanship and you return it to us within one year from the date of purchase, we will replace it or, at our option, repair it at no charge to you. If we repair the defective part, we may use reconditioned replacement parts or materials. If we replace it, we may replace it with a reconditioned one of the same design.

If your Performance Machine, Inc. chrome product has been maintained properly and has not been abused, you may return it to Performance Machine within two years of the invoice date and if upon inspection it is found to be defective, we will replace it, or at our option repair it.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICEContact Performance Machine at (714) 523-3000 to obtain authorization to return the part. Send parts to us at the address below, together with a letter describing the problem. You must prepay all shipping costs.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONSThis warranty does not cover any damage to the product caused by accident, misuse, failure to follow installation and operation instructions, misapplication, alteration or attempted unauthorized repair service by anyone other than us. This warranty does not cover wheels used on the street or highway that are designated in our catalog for racing purposes only. In addition, due to the unusual stresses placed on all parts used on the race track, Performance Machine, Inc. will warranty at their discretion any parts used for racing purposes.

LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTYRepair or replacement of the product by us is your sole and exclusive remedy. Implied warranties, including those of fi tness for a particular purpose and merchantability, are limited in duration to the one (1) year term of this express warranty. We will not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages. There are no express warranties which extend beyond those set forth in this document.

STATE LAW RIGHTSSome states do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages or a limitation of the duration of implied warranties so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specifi c legal rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.

TERMSDeposit required on all retail orders. Deposit must be money order or certifi ed check; personal checks will be held for 2 weeks to clear. Orders must be paid in full before shipment. There will be no dealer discounts except to legitimate motorcycle businesses.

CREDIT CARD PURCHASESPerformance Machine accepts MasterCard and VISA as a deposit or for payment in full on orders in the United States. Credit card orders can only be shipped to the verifi able billing name and address of the card. Balance of order must be paid in full before shipment. We do not accept Credit Card payments for any orders shipped out of the United States (except Canada and Puerto Rico).

SHIPPINGAll orders within the continental U.S. will be shipped Ground unless otherwise specifi ed. All orders shipped FOB PERFORMANCE MACHINE, INC.

FOREIGN AND APO SHIPMENTSPerformance Machine recommends that you contact a local dealer for parts; Contact Performance Machine for a list of dealers in your country. All foreign shipments must be paid in full including freight. Performance Machine does not accept Credit Cards for payment of foreign orders. Contact Performance Machine for acceptable method of payment. PM will not be responsible for customs duties or charges when importing parts into other countries. All APO shipments must be paid in full including shipping via U.S. Mail. For APO shipments only - write or call Performance Machine, Inc. for estimate of shipping costs.

RETURNSNo returns will be accepted without prior authorization by calling or writing Performance Machine, Inc. to request an RMA number. Parts will only be considered for return if the request is made within 30 days from the date of invoice. A handling fee will be charged to restock parts unless otherwise specifi ed. Performance Machine, Inc. reserves the right to refuse to issue an RMA at our discretion.
