    Presidency MessageI'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord,

    Over mountain or plain or sea;I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord;

    I'll be what you want me to be. (Hymn #270)As we sang the words to this familiar hymn during the ReliefSociety General Broadcast the spirit of the song struck a chord inmy heart and I wondered, am I going where He wants me to go?Am I saying what He wants me to say? Am I being what He wantsme to be? During our daily endeavors, how often do we pledgeheart, hands, and life to being in the service of the Lord? Do we justsay the words, or, are we following through and humbly seeking to

    be an instrument in His hands? President Monson wrote, Ours isthe duty to reach out to rescue those who have left the safety ofactivity, that such might be brought to the table of the Lord to feaston His word, to enjoy the companionship of His Spirit, and to be nomore strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints,and of the household of God. We will be the ones to bring thesedear friends and neighbors to the table of the Lord. It will bethrough our loving actions that we rescue those who are even nowwaiting for us. As visiting teachers we are on the front lines. Let usstrive to be the instrument the Lord needs us to be. We are on Hiserrand and He will bless our efforts as we humbly ask for His help.

    We are not perfect. The people around us are

    not perfect. People do things that annoy,disappoint, and anger. In this mortal life it willalways be that way. Nevertheless, we must letgo of our grievances. Part of the purpose ofmortality is to learn how to let go of such things.That is the Lords way. Remember, heaven isfilled with those who have this in common:Theyare forgiven. And they forgive. Dieter F. Uchtdorf

    Visiting Teaching Corner

    u This Months message is: The Divine Missionof Jesus Christ: Creator

    Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth(3 Nephi 9:15). He did so through the power of thepriesthood, under the direction of our HeavenlyFather (see Moses 1:33).How grateful we shouldbe that a wise Creator fashioned an earth andplaced us here, said President Thomas S.Monson, that we might experience a time oftesting, an opportunity to prove ourselves in orderto qualify for all that God has prepared for us to

    receive. When we use our agency to obey Godscommandments and repent, we become worthy toreturn to live with Him. Of the Creation, PresidentDieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the FirstPresidency, said: We are the reason He createdthe universe!This is a paradox of man:compared to God, man is nothing; yet we areeverything to God. Knowing that Jesus Christcreated the earth for us because we meaneverything to Heavenly Father can help usincrease our love for Them. (Ensign, October2013)

    Ward Relief Society Theme for 2013 is: Drawing Closer to Christ.

    D&C 88:63 Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek mediligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive;

    knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

    Elder Bernard P. Brockbank called this process of asking, seeking, and knocking aGod-given formula on how to reach and know your Heavenly Father and yourSavior, Jesus Christ (Be Worthy of Celestial Exaltation, in Speeches of the Year, 1974 [Provo:Brigham Young University Press, 1975], pp. 37879).
