DESCRIPTION

The Dweller on the Threshold is the central ritual in the Ordo Argentum lux Lucis lexicon. It represents the first and foremost level of access in the path toward knowing. In order that the practitioner may travel they must first open the door to that limitless beyond. The Dweller on the Threshold is the ritual utilized to open the gate, allowing the journey to begin. In many ritual traditions only in the higher stages of initiatory research is the practitioner given access to the knowledge of attainment with the beyond. This upper level of spiritual attainment is when the practitioner finally gains access to the beyond. Having crossed the threshold of knowing and expanding ones sense of identity beyond the concepts of the mundane the journeyer has finally achieved the enlightened state.Yet the territory that lays ahead in this illimitable vastness has yet to be more than sketched. The metaphoric and philosophic landscapes that make up our experiences through the Gates of Light have rarely been documented, and when they have their oneirographic representations are shrouded in a veil of language and finiteness. Merely icons hinting at what was perceived. And so within the OAlL we begin where others leave off. We open the door at the beginning, not at the end - and we seek to map the unmappable richness of human experience that can be found outside of our sense of identity and our perception of mundane reality. As there are endless paths away from the self there are endless forms the cinematic variable of the ritual can take. This specific form (Chronozon) is created to lead the aspirant away from "I" and toward that other. Many, often darker, versions of this content exist - yet this is the path most easily tread as it has been shaped to amplify certain variables inherent in the human condition. The video portion of the ritual can be found here (and elsewhere). The first Emanation of the Dweller on the Threshold (Choronozon): http://vimeo.com/6008235The second Emanation of the Dweller on the Threshold (Hadit):http://vimeo.com/8823216Obviam lux Lucispublished under the authority of theOrdo Argentum lux Lucis.argentumluxlucis.org

Having prepared the temple in accordance with the prescribed manner the aspirant should place themselves facing the reflected surface of light. The image of projected light should be wide enough that it fills the periphery of the practitioners view from within the described circle.

Within easy reach of the seated aspirant should be the following tools:

Page 6: RS Harmon-Invocation of the Dweller

- crucible containing the prepared herbal incense.

- a qaliûn (pipe) for burning the incense.

- a fire source for igniting the incense.

Additionally such tools as may be necessary for protection and operation of the practitioner, such as an athame, chalice, sword or wand may accompany the Traveler as one sees fit and in accordance with the needs and risks of the ritual at hand.

This Ritual is designed for the solitary Traveler, the practitioner who seeks the journey through the Gates of Light and toward the realms of understanding beyond.

Facing the reflected surface of light stare into its center. As the image begins to unfold soften the gaze of the eyes, focusing on a point in space between the reflected surface of light and the seated practitioner (oneself ).

During the invocation/banishing of the Dweller the Traveler must never look away from the reflected light.

[Taking the qaliûn in your left hand and drawing deeply of its rewards the aspirant should remain focused on the center of the evolving imagery.]

[speak while exhaling]

Great Dweller, who is called klippoth, and named Choronzon - Demon of Gates,

Lurker of the Abyss, Guardian of Thresholds, who stands beyond all things.

I AM BEFORE YOU AND ABOUT YOU!

Page 10: RS Harmon-Invocation of the Dweller

Cerberus, child of Hecate, true nature of my soul.

Vighne!vara, Lord of Obstacles, mirror for my reflection.

Janus, two faced that you may see what was and what shall be, shroud of the sky that you

protect us from our true self.

I AM WITHIN YOU AND WITHOUT YOU!

Ani, who is named

Anu, who is called

Yaj*’u Ash-Shudhdh+dh (),)- %&./%/)

I AM YOU AS YOU ARE I!

[holding the qaliûn in your left hand, draw deeply of its rewards and speak as you exhale]

Choronzon, no longer will your words deceive, nor language confuse, for I seek

without seeing that which is beyond sight.

I would know the Tzelem Elokim, and rend aside the veil

that separates me from Da’at.

Page 13: RS Harmon-Invocation of the Dweller

I AM THE VEIL OF MY IGNORANCE!

I AM CHORONZON THE DECEIVER!

I AM THE DWELLER,

AS THE DWELLER IS MYSELF!

Page 14: RS Harmon-Invocation of the Dweller

For it is the very “I” to which I cling that separates me from knowing.

Before you great Yaj*’u Ash-Shudhdh+dh I cast aside my identity that I may be

free to enter through your doors.

Receive the Akasha of my being as I cast aside all that which is “I”.

[Once more, holding the qaliûn in your left hand, draw deeply of its rewards.]

Place the qaliûn away from oneself and lay your hands and arms at your sides. Narrow your field of vision into the center of the imagery. Allow the entire field of abstraction to unfold and envelop you. Breath deeply, back upright and rigid, arms fully relaxed. Allow the imagery to pull you in. Empty oneself into the void that has been opened by the light. Explore without form the vastness of being that is true illumination.

Page 16: RS Harmon-Invocation of the Dweller

After the duration of the piece has been experienced rise up from the floor and rest on your knees and toes. Close your eyes in the darkness and continue to breathe deeply for a matter of minutes.

Before you rise in the darkness repeat these words softly.

The Traveler has returned,

the light of Knowing has receded,

I am I once more.

[note that when one rises after a prolonged period of absence from the body a stiffness is bound to occur. Practical yoga to loosen the joints/muscle tension to reincorporate oneself into the familiar form is suggested.]
