We have a busy holiday season coming up with RRT. Here is some more information about each event. They are all important dates, so please try to make them. November 12 th is our Calendar Meeting at JoJo’s Pizza at 3pm. This is the day we set our rides and camping calendar for next year. Bring your ideas for both day rides and overnight camping trips. We are always looking for new places to experience with our horses. If you have been to a place by yourself (or with another group) that you think we would enjoy, then please tell us about it. With the amount of riding places getting fewer all the time, sharing trail ideas is what keeps them used and open. Also, it is always easiest to be the Trail Boss on a ride that you have enjoyed in the past. November 14 th is our monthly meeting at JoJo’s Pizza at 7:30pm. We will be nominating officers, and discussing director and committee positions. Everyone involved has done a great job this year! The club job functions are divided up into several small portions. Some positions take 1 day a month. Some positions take a few days at a few different times during the year. But rarely do any of the jobs take more than 10-15 days throughout the whole year. Whatever your talent (public speaking, organizing events, leading trail rides, taking and writing minutes), we need you to volunteer a bit of your time to keep the club running. November 18 th is our Hidden Valley Day Ride and Raffle drawing. The weather has been getting cooler and should make for excellent riding. So no one has an excuse for not attending due to it being too hot. December 2 nd , 3 rd , 9 th , & 10 th is the Jurupa Valley Adopt-A-Family parade nights. Last year, we picked two nights and had between 2-3 horses each of those nights. Our horses were decked out in lights and garland. All of our horses behaved well and were a big hit with everyone (especially the children). The speed is at a slow walk since there are costumed participants walking alongside gathering toys from the viewers. The parades consist of several city trucks, a couple of floats (including the Santa float), and a fire engine. Between them, there is ample light to see where you are walking. The parades start at 6pm and are usually over at 9pm. We will have the exact parade routes later in the month of November after they have been finalized. December 12 th is our monthly meeting at JoJo’s Pizza at 7:30pm. We will be voting on officers and confirming committee members this night. Please remember that we are going to need some new people in these positions due to some upcoming vacancies. The club must have a certain number of volunteers for the upcoming year. December 16 th is our Holiday Party. Janet Backer has once again graciously volunteered her home for the party. We had a great time last year with more types of yummy food than I can remember. As well as a wicked fun gift exchange. Give Janet a call for more info regarding the potluck, gift exchange. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FLYERS FOR ALL EVENTS! TAG YOUR IT !TAG YOUR IT !

Hi, my name is Patt French. When I am not on the road inmy motorhome and pullingmy horse trailer with Joey,I’m at home in Jurupa Valleywhere I live with my dog, aChocolate Lab named Baci,my two rescued cats, Sheba& Delilah and my main man,my Quarter Horse Joey.

I retired when I was 52 and decided I wanted to seeall that I possibly could while I was able to travel andride. Back then I had a female Doberman named,

“Jonnie Cash,” we called her“Cash” and my Missouri FoxTrotter mare, “Summer.” So,I bought a Motorhome and offwe went on our adventures! We traveled all over togetherand rode trails together for 12years. We entered a Trail TrialClass back home and I won ahuge belt buckle and we wereboth very satisfied with whata great job we did together.

We’ve been to Monument Valley, and while manypeople choose to ride mules down the vast canyon, Ipreferred to ride Summer! We’ve been to Red Rock,NV, Tuolomne Rivers in Yosemite, Broken ArrowHorse Camp in Custer, SD, just to mention a few.

I may show up at the Denver Stock Show orCheyenne’s Frontier Days,I’m just not sure where theroad may take me! “I want todo this while I am physicallyand mentally able.” “I haveridden since I was 8 years oldand will probably ride decadespast my 80’s!”

Sometimes I like to gofishing, so I went to Alaska forfour months and spent threemonths around the Gulf Coastand then went to Canada fortwo months.

Though the year’s women have told me that I am“living their dream.” I don’t want to live anyone’sdream, people should do it for themselves and live alltheir own dreams. I can’t recall a time when I didn’tdo what I wanted to do!

Last month my trusty old Motorhome finally gave outon me and it would just cost to much to fix, so I decidedto go and look for a new one. With the help of my goodfriend Vicki we found a nice and clean 2011, 31’ Ithaca.

Joey and I will beheading out on ourfirst trip next month inmy new RV. I am sohappy to be able tofeel safe and back onthe road again!

Just wanted to share and let everyone know what someof RRT Club Members and friends did when the wildfireswere threatening horses and families in the Canyon Firesin the hills and residential areas of Corona, Anaheim andOrange County.

Their was a mandatory evacuation of over 1500residents and their animals. They rescued over 100 horsesand took them to the El Modena High School in Orangeand to the Orange County Fairgrounds. They said, boththe School and the Fairgrounds were filled to capacity!

Vicki Voss, Penny Clark and Becky Hagaman got ateam of volunteers together and they all decided to seewhat they could do to help the families and their horses.

Allison Clark, Kimberlie Hall, Ronelle Fox Hicks,Valerie Burt and Stacy were some of the team that gottogether and hauled hay down to the Fairgrounds for thehorses. Becky was at the School helping with the horses. She had her truck and trailer waiting to get dispatched topick up some of the rescued horses and bring them to safety..

Vivi’s Feed in Jurupa Valley on Mission Blvd. not onlywas a sponsor for the RRT Prize Ride, but they gave adiscount on the cost of the hay that Allison Clark paidfor. She is the daughter of Penny and Harvy Clark,past...long time RRT members.

Horse Rescue Volunteer’s

Vivi’s loaded up the hay in Kimberlie’s horse trailerwith bale’s of hay and the girls took it down to the OrangeCounty Fairgrounds for the rescued horses. When theygot to the Fairground their was a team for folks waitingto help unload the hay for them.

We just want to say “Thank You”to all the volunteer’s who worked as

a team to get the job done!

A “BIG THANK YOU”to ViVi’s Feed!

“You are all amazing heartfelt people!”

Distinguished Veteran and Disabled Discount Pass Program [email protected]/passexhange

As of August 18, 2017 The California Department of Parks and Recreation(DPR) is modernizing the way it manages the Distinguished Veteran (DVP)and Disabled Discount (DDP) pass programs. The DPR will be issuing newcredit card design passes for current DVP and DDP pass holders as part ofits transition to California’s new reservation system... ... Form Reserve America to Reserve California.

Welcome to Reserve California™. Our new system is easy to use - similarto booking hotels, airline tickets and other comparable services. A variety ofnew features will be phased in between August 1, 2017 and March 1, 2018,including moving from a first-of-the-month on-sale days to a new rollingwindow reservation service. This means that you will be able to reservecampsites and lodging six months in advance from the current date.

DPR is asking current pass holders to visit one of 47 designated state park locations to work with departmentstaff to create a new online profile and exchange their current pass for the new credit card design pass forreservations after August 18, 2017. Individuals may use their current pass for walk-up (first-come, first-serve) camping and day use through February 28, 2018. Old passes will not be valid after these dates.
