RRB stands for Railway Recruitment BoardRailway Recruitment Boards (RRB) conducts written exam for various postsincluding Senior Section Engineer. This year also, Sr. Section Engineer group examis scheduled to be held on 21 Dec. 2014. It is a single stage exam means candidateshave to just qualify the written test and they will be selected based on Merit. Toqualify this test, candidates need to prepare according to latest syllabus of thewritten exam. Also they need to know the pattern of the exam to be conducted.Here is RRB SSE Exam Syllabus 2014 for all posts and branches.

RRB SSE Exam Pattern: Railway Recruitment Board SSE written exam consists of Objective type questionslike in most of the competitive exam. A total of 150 questions are asked which areto be answered in 2 hours.

A. General Ability - 60 questions from below parts(1) General Intelligence and Reasoning(2) General Awareness(3) ArithmeticB. Technical ability / General Science - 90 Questions1/3 negative marking applies for wrong answers given by candidate.

General Intelligence & Reasoning:- Number Series, syllogism, Input-Output, Coding-decoding, Word Building, Seatingarrangement, Clock, Calender. Similarities and differences, analogy, spacevisualization / orientation. Decision making, visual memory, Direction sense test,Blood relations, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification. Arithmetic numberseries, non-verbal series, coding and decoding. Statement conclusion.

Arithmetic:- Algebra, Interests, Ratio & proportion, percentage, time and distance / work, profit& loss, Pipes & Cisterns, Mensuration, Age problems, Data Interpretation.

General Awareness:- Question will be asked from Railway, Rail Budget, New Technologies & Reform inIndian Railway. Indian - History, Polity, Geography, Economy Current affairs, sportsetc.

RRB Technical Ability Syllabus - Questions will be ask from basics of Subjects ofrespective branch of candidate.

RRB SSE Syllabus 2014 Technical Ability / General Science sectionQuestions in Technical Ability section are based on subjects / topics of respectivebranch.

RRB Civil Engineering Syllabus :- Questions will be based on General CivilEngineering. Topics includes Construction/ Structure Engineering and drawing,Estimating, Costing and Valuation & Building Materials, Mechanics, Soil Mechanics,Structural Analysis, Concrete Structures, Steel Structures, Hydraulics, Hydrology,Construction, Water requirements, Highway Planning, Traffic Engineering,Surveying, Coordinate system, Projections, Errors and adjustments, curves,Environmental Engineering, measurements of distance and directions.

RRB Mechanical Engineering Syllabus :- Questions from Strength of Materials,Theory of Machines, Kinematics of Machine, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics,Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Power Engineering, Steam Tables,Thermodynamics cycles, I.C. Engines cycles, Casting, Machining and Machine ToolOperations, Metrology and Inspection subjects topics will be asked.

RRB Sr. Section Engineer Syllabus 2014-15 Electrical Engineering :-Questions will be based on topics of Electrical Machines, Basics of circuit & PowerElectronics. They will also include Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Analogand Digital Electronics, Circuits and Measurement Systems, Signals andSystems,Electrical Machines, Power and Control Systems etc.

RRB SSE Syllabus Electronics Engineering :- Electronic Devices, Energy bands,Signal & Systems, Wireless Communication, Carrier transport in silicon: diffusioncurrent, drift current, mobility, and resistivity. Generation and recombination ofcarriers. Junctions, diodes, tunnel, Analog and Digital Circuits, & Communication,EMFT, Basics of Signal & Systems , Control System.

RRB Computers Engineering Syllabus :- Computer fundamentals, MS Office,languages, Information systems, DBMS, Operating systems, Software Engineering,Computer Networks, Database, Algorithms, Network communication, Systemprogramming, Web technology & programming.

RRB Sr. Section Engineer (IT) Syllabus :- MS Office; Computer fundamentals &organization; C , C++ & Java language; Information systems; DBMS; Systemprogramming; Operating systems; UNIX; SAD; Data & Network communication;Web technology & programming; Software Engineering; Environment & PollutionControl.
