Introduction
A soil-sampling program was carried out on the Vanguard property July 6th and August 6-12, 2003. All samples were analyzed at XRAL Laboratories using their MMI-A and ICP80 packages. The MMI-A technique gives results for the elements Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb while the ICP80 gives results for 30 different elements.
The purpose of the soil survey was to test for the presence of base metals that may be associated with Dreamcatcher helicopter borne EM conductors (Caven, 2003).
Location
The Vanguard property is located 1.5 km south of the village of Kashabowie, Ontario, 120 km West of Thunder Bay, in the District of Thunder Bay. The property can be accessed by turning south at the intersection of Highway 11 and the Kashabowie Road (see Figure 1). The NTS reference is UTM Zone 15U, Map 52B/9, 'Shebandowan'.
Property
The Canadian Golden Dragon Resources Ltd. (Golden Dragon) 100*^6 owned Vangaurd property consists of 404 claim-units. The current geochemical survey lines and claims covered are illustrated in Figure 2, 3 and 4.
Sample Method
Soil samples, each over lOOg, were collected using a soil auger at regular intervals along north-south GPS traverses. The samples were collected at an approximate depth of l O - 15 cm below the surface. The uppermost organic horizon, the AQ, was avoided in favour of the clastic horizons underneath (usually the AI horizon). In instances of a thick, upper humus layer samples were taken from a depth of up to 4 feet in an effect to reach the desired soil. Each sample was collected in a clean, plastic sandwich bag. A complete list of samples and sample locations can be found in Appendix I.
Analytical Method
Soil samples collected for the present survey were submitted for MMI-A and for ICP80 (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry; aqua regia digestion). Analysis was performed at XRAL Laboratories in Toronto, Ontario. Assay results showing detection limits and elements analysed are displayed in Appendix II.
For MMI-A, analysis was done on an unsieved, undisturbed, unsorted sample, using a proprietary leach (enzyme) method. This method extracts minute amounts of metal (in the parts per billion) from the manganese coating on the soil grains. For ICP80 the samples are sieved to 80 meish before analysis by aqua regia digestion.

Recommendations
Comparison of the soil profiles with a previously flown airborne geophysical survey (flight lines shown for selected anomalies on Figure 2-4) shows good correlation. Diamond drilling is recommended on the Lily, Swamp, Whitefish and West Whitefish targets. Grids should be cut for an additional detailed soil sampling and ground geophysical program to be conducted on the remaining anomalies, priority being given to the Long Lake and Costy's Water's areas, to help define future drill targets.
Respectfully submitted,
