1. Network Diagram: The above network was designed by using Cisco packet tracer tool. In my network, I considered different network devices namely Switches, Routers, Wireless Routers and these devices are connected to PC’s, Laptop’s, Tablets, Smart Phones, Servers & Printers. I used three switches and named them as s1, s2, and s3; each switch assigned to several VLAN’s as VLAN 100, VLAN 110, VLAN120 and VLAN 130 and these VLAN’s are connected to different PC’s, Servers and Printers are discussed furtherly. One router is considered and it performed as “Router on Stick”. Two wireless routers are considered which are interconnected in a network and these routers are connected to two different channels (CH1 and CH6) and wireless routers connected Laptop, tablet and phones. 1. 1. Network Diagram:

The above network was designed by using Cisco packet tracer tool. In my network, I considered different network devices namely Switches, Routers, Wireless Routers and these devices are connected to PC’s, Laptop’s, Tablets, Smart Phones, Servers & Printers.

3. Configuration Of Wireless Routers:

The below snapshots tells about IP addresses assigned to both wireless routers (R1 & R2). I considered DHCP reservation like “50 maximum users” in both routers, same and also

assigned security mode as “WPA Personal” by giving password as”P@ssw0rd”. Here same SSID is used as “visuco”, but channels are different in both wireless routers.

4. Description:

Step 1: Setup VLANS

In my network considered 24 ports switches and named them as S1, S2 and S3. In each switch I assigned four VLAN’s to each switch and I considered first usable address as default gateway in each VLAN’s as shown in table,

Step 2: Configuration & Link between three Switches

In S1, I connected two PC’s (Admin-1 & Engineering-1) and one Printer1 by using straight through cables as per the range.

In S2, I connected one PC (Engineering-2), one Laptop (Admin-1) and one printer2 by using straight through cables as per the range, one Router (R1) which performs as Router on stick which connected to fa 0/22 (make this port as trunk) and two Wireless routers, wireless R1 is connected to fa 0/20 & wireless R2 is connected to fa 0/21.

In S3, I connected two PC’s (Admin-3 & Engineering-3), one Printer3 and one server named as TFTP by using straight through cables as per the range. Here, TFTP server is used to back up the switch configuration.

Add description to all the trunk ports in switches.

Add description to all the port ranges in each switch, to specify particular port comes under which VLAN.

All the unused ports are shut down in all switches. All the three switches are connected to each other as shown in below table,

Step 3: Router on a Stick

In R1, I connected this router to S2 port number Fa 0/22 and made this port as trunk. As shown in below screen shot I interfaced Fast Ethernet 0/0 into four sub interfaces by assigning IP addresses with subnet mask 255.255.255.0

I also shut down the Fa 0/1 port which is not used.

Step 4: Setup Wireless Routers

Wireless Router1 connected to Fa 0/20 of S2 port and on other side Wireless Router2 connected to Fa 0/21 of S2 port.

Both wireless routers come under VLAN 130, Internet settings as shown below,Wireless router1:

Wireless router2:

LAN IP address of both wireless routers on 10.10.10.0/24 and DHCP scope also splits between same networks.

In wireless router1, one laptop1 and tablet1are used and IP address to these devices assigned from the range, the starting IP address is 10.10.10.50/24 and ending IP address 10.10.10.99/24

In wireless router2, both smart phones are used and IP address to these devices assigned from the range, the starting IP address is 10.10.10.100/24 and ending IP address 10.10.10.149/24

STEP 5: RESULT

Wireless Router1:

192.168.0.11 IP address assigned to printer2 connected to S2 which gets reply when starts pinging from Laptop1 (IP address 10.10.10.50). But when I try to ping other device connected to Wireless R2 IP address 10.10.10.100 the request is timed out because the packets are dropped.

Wireless Router2:

S1 (Admin-1):

Request timed out for both wireless routers when I try to ping from Admin-1 (S1) because packets drops at that network due to NAT, it is one of security for networks.
