The El Portal Theater, often called the Jewel in the North Hollywood Crown, is a three-theater complex built in 1926 in anticipation of the “talkies.” Today it features musicals, plays, dance, educational arts programs, and other acts from around the world. How to Read This Schedule City of Santa Clarita Transit routes are listed numerically in the schedule and identified by the route number. Schedules indicate when a bus will arrive at major stops along the route. The following information provides basic steps to help you plan your bus trips: • Select the appropriate route number. • Use the section of the timetable that corresponds to the direction of travel (i.e. westbound/

eastbound; the day of the week). • Only key points along the route are listed. Read the timetable from left to right. • Find the stop nearest your boarding location. If your stop is not at a time point, use the previous time

point to determine when you should be at your stop. • Read down the column to determine the departure time. • Read across to determine the time of arrival and intersection nearest your destination. • If you must arrive at your destination at a given time, find that time on the schedule and look to the

left to determine your departure time. • If you need to transfer to another bus to complete your trip, look up the schedule for the route that

you will transfer to and find connecting times.

Interagency/ Metro to Muni Transfer - Commuter Only• City of Santa Clarita Transit requires that all Interagency Transfers be loaded onto your TAP card.

Interagency Transfers are $.55 and must be purchased at the time of boarding using Stored Value on TAP only. Cash is not accepted for purchase of a transfer.

• City of Santa Clarita Transit accepts Interagency Transfer paper tickets sold by other connecting transit agencies.

• Worth $1.00 credit towards the full cash fare on inbound Santa Clarita commuter routes.• Worth $.50 credit towards the reduced cash fare for eligible seniors and persons with disabilities on

inbound Santa Clarita commuter routes.• Must be used within 2 hours of purchase and must be tapped on a participating agency upon use.

Metrolink Passes - Local and CommuterIf a customer boards a bus without valid Metrolink media, the cash fare will be collected. Metrolink passes/tickets are only valid on the date printed on the pass/ticket.• One-Way Valid for one boarding on any Santa Clarita Transit route on the date of purchase within

EZ transit passes• Full Fare Worth $1.00 credit towards any higher zone commuter route full cash fare. For example, if

you have a Zone 3 EZ transit pass and wish to ride a Zone 5 commuter route, your pass will be worth $1.00 towards the cash fare.

• Reduced Fare Worth $.50 credit towards any higher zone commuter route reduced cash fare route. For example, if you have a Zone 3 EZ transit pass and wish to ride a Zone 5 commuter route, your pass will be worth $.50 towards the cash fare.

• Passes with a higher zone may be used on lower zoned routes, good for one ride per use.• Recommended for passengers who ride multiple routes or agencies. Upcharges may apply with other

Requests for reasonable modifications or accommodations will not be approved if the request would fundamentally alter the nature of the service or program, create a direct threat to the health or safety of others, result in an undue financial and administrative burden, or the individual would still be able to fully use the services provided by Santa Clarita Transit without the modification. Examples of accommodations that will be denied include:

• Customer flagging a bus to pick up in-between bus stops • Customer request for bus operator to perform personal care attendant functions • Customer request for partial wheelchair securement • Customer request to use lap and shoulder belt without wheelchair securement • Boarding a customer whose service animal is not under control • Boarding a customer whose wheelchair is being used to transport only possessions

Requests can be made to bus operators if you are unable to make requests in advance. However, this will delay service as your request is considered. Please indicate if you have already made a request in advance. The bus operator may need to contact a supervisor or dispatch regarding your request.
