Pastor’s Corner

Happy New Year! It’s 2018 and with a new year comes a clean slate. The pages of this year have not been written. We have a chance once more to decide what we will do with the time we have before us. So what will you do? What new beginnings? What new adventures will you take? My prayer for RMBC is that we will face what lies ahead with excitement and enthusiasm, and be ready and open to God’s leadership in 2018. The season Epiphany lies before us. These weeks of worship are opportunities to have “A-ha” moments and see the surprises God might have in store for us. So join us for study, worship, and service over the months ahead. Let’s see what God might reveal if we are open. Sermons will explore the Holy Spirit, expectations, God’s call and authority. Through them we will find direction and guidance for our lives. Join us!

Blessings, Derik

Notes From Susie–

Once again you have blessed me with gifts too many to name! Thank you so much to RMBC for my Christmas bonus gift as well to the choir and individuals who shared gifts, food, cards, and well wishes! I also want to thank those who helped narrate the Christmas cantata. You helped us tell the story of Jesus’ birth through the eyes of Isaiah, the Innkeeper, Mary, a Shepherd, and the Magi, and Someone who lives today. God is still bringing Light to the darkness in our world. Thank you for helping us tell that story. Thanks also to Diane Dean, the Chrismon Tree helpers and The Thomas Family for making our worship space so beautiful for the season. 2018 is here….God is calling us to work. It’s up to us to join God in the work! I look forward to being a part of that journey! In Christ’s Love, Susie

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

Thank you, Randolph Memorial, for the part you

played in making our 13th annual Coats 4 Kids project

a huge success. We gave out 235 coats on December 2,

2017, and an additional 185 coats were given out the

following weeks to parents who were unable to come

on the sale day. A total of 420 children received a new

coat for the winter. Whether you helped drop off

coats, purchased a coat, sent in money, set up

appointments, worked the sale, or prayed for

this ministry, you were a valuable part of the success

of this year’s coat drive. Thanks for making a

difference in the lives of 420 children in the Central

Virginia community. What a joy it was to work along

side you in serving the LORD!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
