e((e&ts are all things that happen +e(ore! during! and a(ter &hemo'

Chemo is the medi&ation treatments used to treat &an&er &ells (rom multiplying' Patients

&hemo &an +e used in a $ariety o( %ays depending upon the type o( &an&er diagnosed! su&h as lymphoma! +reast! and lung &an&er are all&an&ers! %hi&h re,uires &hemo' Chemo treatment &an+e used to &ure &an&er! stop &an&er (rom spreading! or to slo% the pro&ess do%n' epending on

the stage o( the &an&er and the e((e&ti$eness determine on the length o( the medi&ation' ) person

&an re&ei$e &hemo e$ery day! %ee-! or month' Chemo treatment is al%ays an option! +ut the

radiation may not +e gi$en! i( stage is already (ar gone' The medi&al treatment is ga$e in se$eral

hospital! +ut also at home and the &an&er &enter!depending on the medi&ation type'

properly! and a$oiding al&oholi& +e$erages' 4air loss &an happen o(tenduring this time o( illness'4air loss &an +egin a &ouple o( months into the treatments +e&ause o( the strength o( the

radiation' 4air loss normally %ill start to gro% +a&- a (e% %ee-s a(ter the last treatment' #hile in&hemo not only does the mouth get sores and hair is losses! +ut also a patient s-in &hanges' Thedrugs are so po%er(ul that it is &onstantly -ills many &ells! so the +ody loses hydration and

+e&ome it&hy! dry! and red' Thi&- &ream! &o$ering up (rom sun and mild soaps &an help %ith the

pro+lem' Mouth sores! hair loss! and dry s-in a (e% o( the many side e((e&ts that go into e((e&t
