The standard, according to which ROTWILD presented its first mountain bike, back then was as

unusual as inspiring. Innovative technology, independent development methods and a distinctive

design, which clearly stood out. The idea to build an unusual bike, which sets standards, was a

vision, which has been propelling us since the first prototypes. An attitude, which is also found in

the current product range.

Therefore new developments, constant innovations and detail improvements are crucial. To optimally

connect them, is the challenge for each one of our serially produced bikes, with which we pass new

technologies on to the rider. A bike, which is developed by our engineers to series-production readiness,

has to undergo elaborate processes, which will ensure high quality, permanent functionality and maxi-

mum performance. Our know-how is based on intensive, basic research and a close cooperation with

leading technology partners. New methods in frame construction, latest testing methods and compre-

hensive field testing with international top-class athletes in different stages of the development process,

put us into the position to realize path-breaking ideas.

As important as the intensive work of our engineers on the product are the joy and the riding pleasure

of all those, who realize their very personal cycling experiences on their ROTWILD bikes. So that it

ROTWILD vision of a mountain bike in all aspects. In its frame, which is perfected into every single detail, many

quality criteria unite, which make a ROTWILD bike so efficient.

Visionary designed, manufactured by hand, awarded excellent in many magazine-tests and equipped with path-

breaking technologies. With the R.X2 the ROTWILD engineers converted the reflexion on the essential: into the core

of mountain biking. Uncompromising, efficient and passionate.

innovaTive frame TechnoLogy Being able to use a ROTWILD bike off-road at any time, is the demand of any

ROTWILD rider. Therefore our engineers dedicate special attention to the development of the frame and the chassis.

So that a ROTWILD bike possesses an optimum in traction, lateral stability and an ideal responding behaviour in

different riding situations. This would be unimaginable without the right set of frame.

This is why the latest frame generation is used for the R.X2 models. The innovative main frame made of carbon is a

technological highlight, in which the ROTWILD engineers realized their entire competence, using the MMT Module

Monocoque method.

With the frames manufactured with the MMT method the absorption characteristics of the material have a great

influence. High frequency oscillations or vibrations, which arise when riding fast over roots or rocks, are reduced better

in the large interface between fiber and resin (matrix). Even during the development of new frames our engineers can

adjust the rigidity and/or flexibility of the frame purposefully and therefore directly adjust the so-called „comfort “ of

the frame.

The robust, and at the same time light and modern MMT tubing set is directly adjusted according to the exceptional

riding performance of the R.X2, so that the entire personal performance can be realized off-road.

Frame building is passion and concentration on demanding, technical processes. ROTWILD uses new technologies

only to genuinly improve a product and to create a new riding experience. ROTWILD’s R&D department realizes inno-

vative solutions on the highest technical level. From the first construction drawing all the way to the serial production,

the R.X2 underwent inumerous tests of functionality and durability, during the development process. Both in a test

stand and in endurance tests and in test rides. For this kind of passionate striving for perfection both extensive know-

ledge about material properties and most importantly the experience of many testing cycles and professional feedback

of the riders, who expose their bikes to many thousand kilometres of riding, is crucial. Since for the release for serial

production all newly developed products need to meet the high ROTWILD quality standards.

aLL mounTain This term stands for motion in different off-road terrain and therefore for the original idea of moun-

tain biking. For an all-round bike for almost any kind of terrain, uphill and downhill everywhere. This is the idea, which

the ROTWILD engineers have always been fascinated by. And a conviction, which made the R.X2 what it is today. With

bikes WiTh numerous possibiLiTies In 1997 ROTWILD developed the RFR 01, laying the foundation for a

completely new bike category. The demanding concept realized a high versatility for different terrain and the optimal

combinaton of weight, durability, control and efficiency. By doing so, the ROTWILD engineers implied todays ideal idea

of a perfect All Mountain bike and pushed the matter „performance“ in almost any kind of terrain, a large step ahead.

Large innovations and path-breaking technologies, this is what ROTWILD has been standing for from the very beginning.

While always using latest technologies, the all-round bikes developed, however the demand of optimal performance re-

mained the same. This is why the new R.X2 is a consequent evolution in the All Mountain category. Light weight, out-

standing riding dynamics and an efficient chassis, which offers large reserves to riding-pleasure-orientated riders and

which ensures plenty of control and security in challenging situations.

To improve The besT, you have To break The moLD. Expanding the existing and discovering new possi-

bilities. During our constant striving for improvement we realized over and over again, that you have to expand the

idea of one single ideal solution. Especially, if two different concepts are judged as equal, and therefore open new

possibilities enlarging the individual freedom of choice. Especially when it is about converting a performance-principle,

which has proven its capability in the 26 inch bikes and which has to appear in the new approaches. Thus ROTWILD

enlarges the choice. In addition to the 26 inch bikes we add completely new developed 29 inch mountain bikes for

the categories Cross Country and All Mountain.

You can discover your personal preference even better with ROTWILD. The 26|29 concept gives the rider the possi-

bility to choose the preferred area of use, the preferred wheel size and therefore the advantages of each.

The engineers develped completely new frames for the 29er bikes according to the larger wheel-perimeter. Focus

of the development was the optimal connection between the bike and the rider, so that the strength can be unfolded

in an optimal way and the riding pleasure can be retained. Therefore the established, central seating position of the

ROTWILD bikes for optimal efficiency and unique comfort is the same for both frames. For the 29er bikes a con-

structive adjustment of the frame is necessary: a shorter steering tube due to a greater fork length. Furthermore a

steering angle which is adjusted individually to every single frame size. It is just as important, that the components and

ergo-parts are exactly adjusted to the wheel size.

Predestinated for sportive and touring orientated riding, the new 29er bikes offer perceptible characteristics: smooth-

ness, security in descents, a central seating position and the feeling of control are clear riding-dynamic advantages.

An easier overcoming of obstacles, a better traction, a better climbing behaviour and a faster pace in turns are possible.

If you prefer versatile and challenging terrain, you will enjoy the playful riding behaviour of the 26 inch bikes, which

make it easier to control single trails with many turns. The lower mass intertia makes it easier to accelerate, the overall

weight is lower, turning is easier due to a lower turning momentum, making narrower turns possible and increasing

the agility.

We thought our ideas through: whether 26 or 29 inch, ROTWILD offers an outstanding performance for Cross Country

and All Mountain riders in both wheel sizes. For more individuality and personal preferences.

The X-models are ROTWILD bikes for any kind of mountain biking terrain, and the

new benchmark for riding without limits in the All Mountain category.

geomeTry The geometry interpretation determines the position of the centre of gra-

vity and influences the handling. Therefore the ROTWILD engineers adjusted the frames

of the X-models for the dynamic All Mountain use. The more compact seating position enab-

les more control. The top tube is shorter and therefore shifts the centre of gravity forward,

putting more pressure onto the front wheel. The balanced handling is supported by the

adaptability of the chassis, because it crucially influences the geometry: Uphill with stee-

per steering angle for improved climbing. Downhill with a slack steering angle, a deeper

seating position within the bike, and a higher cockpit, so that the position of the centre of

gravity shifts to the rear, improving the riding safety in challenging situations. These fea-

tures were also converted by our engineers in the new 29 inch frame of the R.X1.

frame consTrucTion More stability, low weight and full touring capability, that

is why our engineers integrated innovative details into the frame concepts, when they

designed the frames. Like the optimized Channel Semi Hydroforming tubing set, the

1.5 tapered steering tube or intelligent gussets as reinforcement of the steering tube:

The R.X1 offers a perfect chassis, its more rugged and at the same time light frame is

designed for higher loads of the All Mountain use.

The new R.X2 deploys the material advantages of the ROTWILD MMT technology with its

unique carbon monocoque frames. Apart from the weight optimization the carbon fibre

chassis absorbs oscillations and vibrations noticeably better than aluminum. The result is

a unique riding experience with lower weight and increased performance. The X-models

feature a mounting for ISCG compatible chain devices, making it possible to use two-way

chain rings and devices. The drop outs offer the possibility to use through bolt systems.

Highly efficient in climbs, plenty of reserves in the descent. The submersible fork in ad-

dition to the optional, submersible seat post supports this conceptual requirement at the

versatility of an All Mountain chassis. Because with this the chassis can be adapted fast

and problem-free to different riding conditions:

- Submersed fork combined with the full length of the seat post: The climbing position

with steeper steering angle puts more pressure onto the front wheel, giving the bike a

better guidance and a more agile steering behaviour during climbs.

- The entire suspension travel of the fork together with the submersed seat post: The

steering angle becomes flatter in the descents, the seating position within the bike be-

comes overall lower. This results in an increase of smoothness, and more control at high

speed, and challenging riding situations.

- The entire suspension travel of the fork and full length of the seat post: The cross

country or touring position. Due to the balanced seating position dynamic, however

relaxed riding is possible.

xms aLL mounTain chassis With the XMS system the ROTWILD chassis specia-

lists designed an outstanding chassis with 150 mm suspension travel (140 mm for the

R.X1 29) for the All Mountain use. The XMS chassis is the result of extensive testing in

the laboratory and on the trails: Together with top athletes and technology partners our

engineers optimized the fine-tuning of the XMS system and adapted the kinematic sys-

tem with its pivot points to the versatile concept of the bikes. The rear end remains fully

active and independent of riding influences in all riding conditions. Furthermore the rear

end linkage is adapted to an increased lever ratio. This prevents the rear end from sag-

ging – the dynamic of the rear end does not get lost in fast turns and curves, or flowing

trail sections. To ROTWILD integrative chassis conception also means, that the particu-

larly coordinated FOX rear shocks are perfectly coordinated with the frame and the kine-

matic. Even with small impacts the sensitive responding behaviour is displayed, with lar-

ge bumps and leaps the progressive response curve has a positive effect.

sition mit steilerem Lenkwinkel bewirkt mehr Druck auf dem Vorderrad und ergibt beim

Klettern eine bessere Führung und ein agileres Lenkverhalten.

xms aLL moUnTaIn fahrWerk Die ROTWILD Fahrwerksspezialisten haben ein

herausragendes Fahrwerk mit 150 mm Federweg (140 mm beim R.X1 29) für den All

Mountain Einsatz konstruiert. Das XMS Fahrwerk ist das Ergebnis umfangreicher Ab-

stimmungsarbeiten im Labor und auf den Trails: Gemeinsam mit Topfahrern und Tech-

nologiepartnern optimierten unsere Ingenieure die Feinabstimmung und stimmten die

Kinematik mit ihren Drehpunktlagen auf das vielseitige Gesamtkonzept des Bikes ab.

Der Hinterbau bleibt in allen Fahrsituationen voll aktiv und unabhängig von Antriebs-

einflüssen. Das Hinterbau Linkage ist für ein erhöhtes Hebelverhältnis konstruiert. Dies

verhindert ein Einsacken des Hinterbaus – in schnell gefahrenen Anliegern und flowigen

Trailpassagen geht die Dynamik des Hinterbaus nicht verloren. Integrative Fahrwerks-

konzeption heißt für ROTWILD aber auch, dass die speziell abgestimmten FOX Sus-

pension Elemente in ihrem Ansprechverhalten perfekt zum Rahmen und der Kinematik

ROTWILD innovations offer noticeable use to the rider. The sporty multi-talented C-bikes

stand for ROTWILD’s interpretation of a mountain bike perfectly suited for everyday use,

having a large spectrum of use. Sporty, dynamic, light and fast, but equipped with more

reserves than a pure race bike, the C-bikes with their 120 mm chassis (100 mm Hard-

tail) enable dynamic climbing and sovereign downhill riding.

geomeTry For dynamic riding the geometry is aligned ergonomically to propulsion,

and provides an agile and lively handling bike, thanks to a balanced seating position.

On ascents the C-models climb outstandingly sportive with a relaxed seating position,

in down hills ambitious riders are pleased about the fully usable suspension travel with

more reserves. The central positioning of the rider within the bike increases the security

in steep or fast riding sections. Lowering of the stand over height with a special semi-

hydro-formed top tube (C1) or a carbon fibre MMT module (C2), and an integrated seat

tube gusset (aluminium models) increases the leg freedom and provides more confi-

dence in technical passages.

Sportive and tour orientated riders now also profit with the C-models from the smooth-

ness, the central seating position and more traction of the new 29er models. Especially

for the use of 29 inch wheels the geometry of the C-models has been adjusted to fit

the needs – so that the riding dynamic characteristics of the Cross Country models are

maintained and you can freely choose your personal preference.

use specific absorption characteristics, as a result of this vibrations are strongly redu-

ced. The C-models obtain an additional focus on touring capability using their fully

concealable seat post and the possibility to store a water bottle.

chassis The selection of the kinetic system plays a crucial role for efficiency. For

the suspension travel of the C-models of 120 mm the ROTWILD engineers developed

the XMS four pivot technology, which out-plays its functional advantages within this

suspension travel range. The activation of the linkage positions and the virtual pivot

point are optimal within the catenary curve. The rear triangle remains almost unin-

fluenced of riding forces and instead noticeably increases the traction while pedalling

(= positive anti-squat effect and pedal bob.)

Latest technology is also used within the rear shock. The exclusive FOX rear shock with

its ROTWILD specific installation dimensions reduces the inclination of the seat stays

and permits a compact arrangement of the system. The combination of the special rear

shock with the evolutionary linkage leads to an ideal ratio for effective power transmis-

sion uphill and a sensitive responding behaviour downhill. The rear shock position pro-

vides for a low centre of gravity, which is a further characteristic of the XMS chassis.

An adjustment due to riders of different weights, from light to heavy, is hassle free and

made possible in this form only with such a chassis transmission ratio.

fahrWerk Die Auswahl des Kinematiksystems spielt für die Effizienz eine ent-

scheidende Rolle. Für den Federweg der C-Modelle von 120 mm haben die ROTWILD

Ingenieure das XMS Viergelenker System so entwickelt, dass es in diesem Federwegs-

bereich seine funktionalen Vorteile voll ausspielt. Die Ansteuerung des Umlenkhebels

(Linkage) positioniert die Lage des virtuellen Drehpunktes innerhalb des Kettenzugs op-

timal. Der Hinterbau bleibt nahezu unbeeinflusst von Antriebskräften und erhöht statt-

dessen die Traktion beim Pedalieren spürbar (= positiver Anti-Squat Effekt).

Neueste Technologie kommt auch beim Dämpfer zum Einsatz. Der exklusive FOX

Dämpfer mit seinen ROTWILD spezifischen Einbaumaßen reduziert die Neigung der

Sattelstreben und erlaubt eine kompakte Gestaltung des Systems. Die Kombination des

speziellen Dämpfers mit dem evolutionären Linkage führt zu einem idealen Übersetzungs-

verhältnis für effektive Kraftübertragung bergauf und sensibles Ansprechverhalten bergab.

Riding enduro means permanent alternation in the terrain: Mastering climbs under your

own steam, high speed passages, close turns, or blocked sections alternate with flow-

ing banked curves and drops. The new ROTWILD E1 Enduro opens up new moments.

A unique bike, for your very personal off-road adventures. New built consistently and

equipped with technology, which sets standards.

chassis Besides requiring more suspension travel the enduro use above all requires

a highly sensitively responding chassis. The ROTWILD engineers put their largest focus

onto the rear end kinematic – to the core of the new E1 models. Apart from a multiplicity

of data analyses from our Tech lab, above all extensive on-road tests went into the con-

struction. Designed for 175 mm suspension travel and by using proven ROTWILD tech-

nology the new XMS four pivot enduro chassis plays out its constructional strength. The

active suspension system masters all riding conditions in a sovereign way.

For 2012 the focus was on detail-developments: The modified seat tube enables the

chainstay to be shorter, making a noticeable improvement of the agile handling possible.

The climbing capability of the Enduro has been improved once again, by intensive co-

operation with the FOX chassis experts.

The reaction forces (=chain tension) always remain in the range of the virtual pivot point

during the compression procedure, hence riding influences are not noticeable. Over the

large range of suspension travel the rear end possesses an optimized wheel lift cam, the re-

sponse curve, which is almost linear in the beginning becomes strongly progressive towards

the end. With a low breakaway torque and a sensitive responding behaviour the chassis

offers the best downhill performance and keeps an optimum contact to the ground even

with larger obstacles. For more traction and at the same time high max-out protection.

Important for touring-capability: The capability of pedalling also on long climbs is not

a problem, because uphill the XMS enduro chassis converts the pressure on the pedal

efficiently into propulsion.

geomeTry Mastering challenging terrain safely requires a bike, which acts reliably at

any time. Here the geometry interpretation determines the character of the Bikes. There-

fore the steering angle and the wheel base of the new E1 are designed for smooth riding

in fast descents. The riders with his compact frame and the low centre of gravity main-

tains control in his central seating position. The E1 follows any steering command agile

and precisely.

frame consTrucTion A special Channel aluminum tubing set was developed for

the robust construction of the E1 bikes, designed in its dimensioning and profile for

higher loads. Additional reinforcement are inserted, where real advantages result. As for

example within the front triangle of the main frame – the used tapered steering tube per-

mits the use of 1.5 tapered long-stroke suspension forks with up to 180 mm suspension

travel. For a stable and light frame with absolute steering precision.

For noticeably more control on washed trails and in fast curves the ROTWILD specialists

dedicated themselves intensively to the total rigidity of the bike. The Semi Hydroforming

top tube and the lower standover increase the stability and the torsional stiffness of the

bikes. The new linkage offers a stable connection in the transition from the front frame

triangle to the rear triangle. Changes in the rear triangle, as well: The chainstays are de-

signed asymmetrical, they offer more tire freedom (up to max. 2.4 “), which results in

considerable traction advantages.

Genuine enduro handling originates only from a practical selection of the components,

which are actually suitable for the area of application. Such as the submersible fork,

which substantially alleviates climbing. Or the two-way crank combined with the chain

device, which effectively prevents the chain from coming off: Particularly in blocked

terrain this is a useful feature. Or the optional telescope seat post, which permits a fast

and comfortable adjustment to the respective riding conditions.

zieller Channel Aluminium Rohrsatz entwickelt, der in seinen Dimensionierungen und

Querschnitten auf hohe Belastungen ausgelegt ist. Zusätzliche Verstärkungen sind dort

eingesetzt, wo wirkliche Vorteile entstehen. Wie zum Beispiel im vorderen Bereich des

Hauptrahmens – das verwendete konische Steuerrohr erlaubt den Einsatz von 1.5 tape-

red, langhubigen Einfachbrückengabeln mit bis zu 180 mm Federweg. Für einen stabi-

len und leichten Rahmen mit absoluter Lenkpräzision.

Für spürbar mehr Kontrolle auf ausgewaschenen Trails und in schnellen Kurven haben

sich die ROTWILD Spezialisten intensiv der Gesamtsteifigkeit des Bikes gewidmet. Das

Semi-Hydroforming Oberrohr und das niedrigere Standover erhöhen die Stabilität und

Verwindungsfestigkeit des Bikes. Das Linkage bietet eine stabile Verbindung in dem

Übergang vom vorderen Rahmendreieck zum Hinterbau. Veränderungen auch am Hin-

frame ROTWILD MMT stands for intelligent lightweight carbon fibre composite

frames. This innovative frame concept of the R2 models consists of a highly efficient

carbon construction, which is assembled in a new manufacturing method from indivi-

dual tubes to a complete monocoque frame. Numerous improvements in the system

characteristics increase the efficiency of the R2 frame. The aggressive frame shape

with its newly designed steering tube leaves no room for doubts: This means more per-

formance than ever before. The new module absorbs torsion and bending forces op-

timally. The integrated 1.5 tapered steering tube improves the steering precision and

makes the use of full carbon forks possible. Where energy is converted directly into

propulsion, the BB92 integrated bottom bracket system and ROTWILD’s own ODT

(carbon Oversized Double Tube) bottom bracket increase the rigidity for better power

transmission.

geomeTry The entire geometry conception of the race models is consistently adjus-

ted to achieve more efficiency, because the performance and propulsion are particu-

larly affected by the centre of gravity of the rider. The height of the bottom bracket and

the length of the seat stays in combination with steering tube and seat tube angles lead

to an optimal wheel load distribution between the front and the rear wheel. The central

seating position above the crank converts the force without loss. The minimization of

the dynamic wheel load changes („bobbing effect “= bouncing during pedalling) provi-

des a better climbing ability and thus provides more acceleration.

The downhill characteristics of the ROTWILD race bikes are adapted to the modern,

fast World Cup and Marathon race tracks. Therefore the ROTWILD engineers adapted

the geometry in such a way that close turns on bent XC tracks are to be mastered just

as easily as extremely fast sections, which require the highest riding stability. The lower

position of the bottom bracket, the higher cockpit (110 mm of suspension travel) and

the balanced wheel base substantially increase the riding safety and the performance.

chassis Active Linkage System II – The embodiment of a chassis technology for

hard racing use. As a fully active chassis the ROTWILD ALS II increases traction, pro-

pulsion and responding behaviour noticeably. It keeps its full function uphill, during

sprints and fast descents, with the 110 mm suspension travel making the necessary

reserves available. By the intelligently designed rear triangle with its racing optimised

pivot points, set-ups can be made in such a way that the rear triangle can work parti-

cularly efficient. In combination with a particularly co-ordinated rear shock the ALS II

offers a maximum in performance without any technical special solution. In order to

secure an extremely sensitive and responsive behaviour and high durability, sealed full-

ball bearings are used for the ALS II. This innovative bearing technology improves the

pressure distribution, reduces the friction and not only improves the response behavi-

our of the chassis but also its durability.

The race genes of the R2-models can also be found in the details: CFK drop out

module with integrated post mount brake adapter and aluminium MDI inserts. Extreme-

ly light designed for long durability and easy to replace when worn out. Maximum tire

freedom even in adverse conditions and the possibility to use two water bottles are par-

ticularly important for racers. The rear triangle is also appropriate for narrow Q-factor

cranks e.g. two-way. In order to improve the riding comfort of the R2 HT the seat tube

knot has been completely redesigned: By using a redesigned layup, an optimized fibre

type selection and the use of a 27.2 mm seat tube.

terbau, der auch für schmale Q-Faktor Kurbeln ausgelegt ist. Beim R2 HT wurde zur

ble. Light and rigid for maximum propulsion: The application of high-quality materials

and manufacturing methods worked successfully for racing use. With an incomparab-

le riding feeling, which offers plenty of riding safety, and stability on each kilometre. Be-

cause the combination of a particularly co-ordinated geometry with the high dynamics of

the chassis make precise handling possible in each riding situation, without neglecting

the comfort.

concept: Propulsion thanks to maximum efficiency. Optimized for numerous forces and

more comforT In order to be able to sit comfortably after many hours of riding, we

put a focus on the comfort characteristics or also absorption characteristics of the frame.

The use of carbon fibres as frame material makes various alternatives possible, since in

particular high frequency oscillations, which arise when riding over road roughness, are

clearly better reduced (energy absorption) in the large boundary surface between fibre

and resin (matrix), than with metallic materials (e.g. aluminum). Step by step each in-

dividual tubing segment was accurately analyzed and defined exactly regarding its cha-

racteristics. Only the conscientious combination of tube form, tube cross section and –

design as well as the defined fibre lay-up make a construction possible, which connects

high rigidities with good absorption characteristics.

Weight reduction may be used only wisely also with road bikes. Therefore the S2 cons-

truction is appropriate for durability, stability and road capability despite our striving for

lightweight construction. This is why we use aluminum inserts at the neuralgic points

such as steering tube, bottom bracket an drop outs (MDI technology).

sporTive geomeTry Fascination and uncompromising riding safety follow our idea

that unique dynamics can be obtained when riding a road bike only by the interaction of

material and adapted geometry. The sporty seating position of the S2-models is appro-

priate for efficient propulsion and directional stability, at the same time the agile frame

can easily be steered around tight curves on fast descents and tight sections. The direct

mehr komforT Um bei langen Ausfahrten auch nach vielen Stunden noch be-

quem im Sattel zu sitzen, legen wir großen Wert auf die Komforteigenschaften oder

auch Dämpfungseigenschaften des Rahmens. Die Verwendung von Carbonfasern als

Rahmenmaterial ermöglicht hier vielfältige Möglichkeiten. Insbesondere hochfrequen-

te Schwingungen, die beim Überfahren von Fahrbahnunebenheiten auftreten, werden

in der großen Grenzfläche zwischen Faser und Harz (Matrix) deutlich besser reduziert

(Energieabsorption) als bei metallischen Werkstoffen (z.B. Aluminium). Schritt für Schritt

wurde dafür jedes einzelne Rahmensegment exakt analysiert und hinsichtlich seiner Ei-

genschaften genau definiert. Erst die gewissenhafte Kombination von von Form, Quer-

schnitt und Gestaltung sowie dem definierten Faser-Layup ermöglicht eine Konstruktion,

die hohe Steifigkeiten mit guten Dämpfungseigenschaften verbindet.

Gewichtseinsparung darf auch beim Rennrad nur sinnvoll eingesetzt werden. Deshalb

ist trotz unseres Strebens nach Leichtbau die S2 Konstruktion auf Haltbarkeit, Stabilität

und Alltagstauglichkeit ausgelegt. Dafür setzen wir Aluminium Inserts an den neuralgi-

schen Punkten wie Steuerrohr, Innenlager und Ausfallenden (MDI Technologie) ein.

typical ROTWILD development approach, which perfectly unites innovation, efficiency

and functionality. Riding fast and safely in any terrain. For people, who appreciate

sportive riding comfort and enjoy touring. The T1-models are genuine all-round talents,

because they are suitable for extended touring just as for everyday use: From the trip to

the office, over the short distance through the city up to the after-work-tour with friends.

T1 innovaTion The new T1-bikes are based upon the ROTWILD high-end tubing

technology, which originates directly from the mountain bike development department.

The load-capable optimized aluminium Channel-Tubing gives the frame its particular

stability. Due to the low weight, the T1-models are very easy to accelerate, at the same

time the frame is very robust, and particularly durable. The high frame rigidity guaran-

tees optimal riding safety, because when riding with luggage, the bike must remain

controllable at any time even in fast descents and tight turns.

T1 efficiency For genuine touring characteristics an efficient geometry is crucial,

because this directly affects the comfort-character on longer rides. Sovereign control

of the bike in different riding conditions is an important criterion in the development

of all our ROTWILD bikes. The balanced seat- and steering-tube angles and the deep

centre of gravity of the T1-models provide for optimum agility. The seating position is

sportily comfortable. The chain stays are a little longer compared to the chain stays of

a mountain bike. Therefore the wheel base increases, resulting in an increase of riding

smoothness and directional stability, which leads to a stable straight-running.

T1 funcTionaLiTy Well equipped on the way: Sovereign control requires brakes,

which brake strongly at any time, and reliably function on wet roads and with luggage.

Therefore maintenance-free, hydraulic disk brake systems are used. The disk brake

mount lies within the rear triangle stays within the frame, thus the assembly mounts

for travel accessories (e.g. mud guards, rack, side stand) remain freely accessible. All

these details make the ROTWILD T-models the ideal travel partner. Sportivity paired with

genuine touring characteristics distinguish all T1-models. Depending upon employment

emphasis however, they have their completely own character.

T1 comp / pro / Wms The multi-touring-bike for everyday use, also as reliable travel

companion over long distances. A bike for highest demands – day after day. Light, agile,

fast, and comfortable. The WMS model has a lower top-tube for more legroom and an

easier use.

T1 gearhub The comfort-touring-bike for sportily fast riding. The reliable 11-gear

transmission hub has a large expansion. Furthermore it is very low in maintenance,

comfortably to use and makes shifting a real pleasure – even stationary. The light T1

GH possesses the typical T1 details. The comfort fork with 63 mm suspension travel

increases the riding pleasure.

T1 29 cross pro The sportive racer for even more speed. With pure conversion of

strength to speed. Consistently light built and equipped, with precise handling and an

efficient power transmission, which tempts to simply ride fast. Also here the high-end

MTB drive- and braking-technology provides for dynamics, just as the high-quality

wheel-system with 29“ tires and the rigid full carbon fork.

T1 fUnkTIonaLITäT Gut gerüstet unterwegs: Souveräne Kontrolle erfordert jederzeit

kräftig zupackende Bremsen, die bei Nässe und mit Gepäck zuverlässig funktionieren.

Deshalb kommen wartungsfreie, hydraulische Scheibenbremssysteme zum Einsatz. Die

Scheibenbremsaufnahme liegt innerhalb der Hinterbaustreben im Rahmen, damit die

Montagepunkte für das Reisezubehör (z.B. nachrüstbare Schutzbleche, Gepäckträger,

Seitenständer) frei zugänglich bleiben. All diese Details machen die ROTWILD T-Modelle

Tourer verfügt über die typischen T1 Details. Die Komfortgabel mit 63 mm Federweg

roTWiLD hybriD poWereD by bosch The ROTWILD T1 hybrid bikes are our

approach to the mobility technology for different areas of use. In cooperation with the

manufacturer BOSCH, ROTWILD developed an innovative E-Bike concept, which opens

up completely new possibilities, promoting the rider further, faster and with less effort.

The T1 hybrid models open up new dimensions. They are bike and means of transpor-

tation at the same time. Whether on relaxed routes, for fitness use, or on the daily way

to work, with the T1 Hybrid you are riding in a sportive manner almost anywhere.

As genuine mountain bikes, the C1 Hybrid models use the advantages of the BOSCH

drive, even beyond the road.

hmi – human inTerface. The controlling of the BOSCH drive unit is done by

the control unit fastened directly in grasp width (HMI – human interfaces). Here the

most important information can be read, such as the current speed, average speed,

ridden distance, charge of the battery, and the adjusted engine support mode (assistance

mode). Four different support modes can be used for riding – route, eco, sport and

speed. The strength of the engine assistance (level) within the four modes can be adap-

ted in three stages, in order to adapt the drive to the riding conditions. In addition, it is

possible to operate the entire unit in the OFF mode (without engine support – fail-safe).

Drive uniT – Drive sysTem WiTh Transmission anD ecu The HMI is con-

nected to the so called Drive Unit by a modern CAN-Bus system. The unit consists of a

completely new developed, highly efficient 250 W engine with gearbox, and an electro-

nic control unit (ECU). The light and torque-strong high performance engine maximises

the range and offers a high torque and a reliable support over the entire speed range up

to 25 km/h. The ECU receives information from three different sensors (torque crank,

cadence, and speed), which are integrated in the overall system of the drive unit and

which at any time (analysis takes place 200 times per second) can illustrate actual

riding condition.

journeys, just as for pleasure-oriented riding or for the daily way to work, which in the

future you would rather like to cover by bike. The T1 hybrid unites the intelligent per-

formance of the new propulsion principle with high functionality for long distances, and

is the perfect partner in the city, if you once more face stop-and-go traffic. And with its

drive support it noticeably eases riding uphill and against head wind. As for all T1-

models lighting systems, mud guards, a rack and a side stand can be installed to the

particular mountings.

c1 hybriD The road is a possible area of use for the C1 Hybrid models, when used

everyday. Their preferred area of use, however is beyond the road. This is why they pro-

vide a lot of off-road-competence and offer a new experience with their low weight. They

offer a typical ROTWILD performance with a lot of traction and sovereign acceleration

even in steep climbs.

This is how the propulsion-will of the hybrid bikes can be experienced even off-road.

baTTery The power supply of the entire drive unit is made by a completely new de-

veloped 36V/8 Ah battery power pack with a total output of 288 Wh. With the help of

the integrated battery management system (BMS) each particular out of the 40, 18-650

type cells, based on lithium ions technology, is constantly supervised during the use

and the loading procedure and therefore guarantees an optimal life span of the cells.

The loading cycle is made by a separate high speed battery charger with which the

battery can be charged up to 80% within 90 minutes – after 2,5 hours the complete

loading procedure is completed to 100%.

faiL safe – can bus sysTem For the first time most modern control electronics

from the automotive industry is being used for the drive unit of a pedelec system. Via the

CAN-Bus system all building groups within the drive system communicate with one ano-

ther (HMI, sensors, battery and drive unit) and supervise the operation of the drive unit

during the use. At the same time this system offers the possibility of an exact error ana-

lysis. Over the HMI error codes can be made visible visually and/or be uploaded onto a

notebook via interface.

den man zukünftig lieber mit dem Rad zurücklegen möchte. Den unterschiedlichen T1

Hybrid Modellen ist eines gemeinsam: Sie vereinen die intelligente Performance des

neuen Antriebskonzeptes mit hoher Funktionalität für lange Strecken und sind die op-

timalen Partner in der Stadt, wenn es mal wieder im Stop and Go vorwärts geht. Und

sie erleichtern mit ihrer Antriebsunterstützung spürbar das Überwinden von Steigungen

und Fahrten bei Gegenwind.

Wie bei allen T1 Modellen auch lassen sich auch den Hybrid Modellen Lichtanlage,

Schutzblech, Gepäckträger und Seitenständer an den vorgesehenen Montagepunkten

nachrüsten.

c1 hYBrID Die Straße ist für die C1 Hybrid Modelle zwar eine Möglichkeit im Alltags-

einsatz. Ihr bevorzugter Einsatzbereich liegt aber abseits befestigter Wege. Dafür bieten

sie hohe Geländetauglichkeit und sorgen als echte Mountainbikes mit ihrem niedrigem

Gewicht für ein neues Erlebnis. Nämlich typische ROTWILD Performance mit jeder

Menge Traktion und mit souveräner Beschleunigung auch bei steileren Anstiegen.

Damit wird der Vorwärtsdrang der Hybrid Bikes auch offroad neu erlebbar.

BaTTerIe Die Energieversorgung der gesamten Antriebseinheit erfolgt über ein kom-

plett neu entwickeltes 36V / 8 Ah Batterie Power Pack mit einer Gesamtleistung von 288

Wh. Mit Hilfe des integrierten Batterie Management System (BMS) wird jede einzelne

der insgesamt 40 Zellen vom Typ 18-650 auf Basis der Lithium-Ionen Technologie wäh-

rend der Nutzung und des Ladevorgangs ständig überwacht und stellt so eine optimale

Lebensdauer der Zellen sicher. Das Aufladen erfolgt über ein separates Hochleistungs-

ladegerät mit dem die Batterie innerhalb von nur 90 Minuten bereits wieder zu 80%

aufgeladen werden kann - nach 2,5 Stunden ist der komplette Ladevorgang zu 100%

abgeschlossen.

faIL safe – can BUs sYsTem Erstmals kommt bei einem Antriebssystem moderns-

te Steuerungselektronik aus dem Automotive Bereich Einzug in die Pedelec System. Über

das CAN-Bus System kommunizieren alle im Antriebssystem befindlichen Baugrup-

pen miteinander (HMI, Sensoren, Batterie und Antriebseinheit) und überwachen so den

Betrieb der Antriebseinheit während der Nutzung. Gleichzeitig bildet dieses System die

Möglichkeit der genauen Fehleranalyse. Über das das HMI können Fehler Codes visuell

sichtbar gemacht werden bzw. mittel eines Interface via Laptop ausgelesen werden.

the alps or longer rides require special clothing: The ROTWILD Cycling

Collection relies on the most modern materials and technical cuts, which

are consistently aimed at the needs of many endurance sports and es-

pecially cycling. Efficient ventilation high breathability for a good body

temperature in hot conditions is as important as unique freedom of

movement for the greatest wearing comfort. Wind and weather protection
