A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR
I would like to take this opportunity to
present the RSM MBA Career
Development Centre (CDC). Our main
focus is to provide career services to
Full-Time MBA, Executive MBA and
other postgraduate, post-experience
programmes.
Furthermore, our department
continuously spends time building and
nurturing relationships to improve the
range and quality of our services,
ultimately aiming to satisfy the career
development needs of our students and
alumni.
It is a privilege as well as a challenge to
be working with such an incredibly
diverse and varied group of students,
and our past achievements pay
testament to our enthusiasm for the job
at hand.
Our team of career coaches utilise
various techniques in supporting the
students. Furthermore, I am happy to
present to you an overview of our
success rate for MBA recruitment and
placement during the past years. This
information is also published in the
Financial Times, Business Week and
The Economist.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2013
In 2013, 82% of our job searching
graduates successfully changed their
careers or made significant career
progress within their industry upon
completing their MBA. The annual mean
salary of our graduates has increased
by 7,3% to $92.515, with base salaries
ranging from $23.500 to $320.000.
We see the trend that companies are
less likely to pay sign-on bonuses. This
has an effect on both the volume and
amount of sign-on bonuses, resulting in
a decrease in the average sign-on
bonus of 7,5% to $11.473.
Furthermore, we see that additional
compensation is becoming a more
influential part of the total salary
compensation. In 2013, the value of the
average guaranteed compensation grew
by 27,1%, equating to $12.919 per year.
With regards to international mobility,
97% of our graduates have an
international background. 56,9%
secured employment in the Netherlands
after the MBA programme, whereas
others pursued their careers in Europe,
Asia and emerging markets.
Of the total graduates, 10% were
sponsored or started their own
business. Indicating that the RSM MBA
programme is not only for those with
aspirations for a career change, but also
a great opportunity to gain business
skills to further grow within your
previous employer or your own
business.
Overall we see a positive development
in terms of employment rate and salary
compensation. Considering the high
quality of our graduates, the MBA
programme and the offered career
services, we expect that this will further
develop to the benefit of future RSM
MBA graduates.

statistics over the past three years.
These statistics have also been
submitted to the MBA rankings of The
Financial Times, Businessweek and The
Economist
Compared to last year, there were more
company-sponsored graduates who
returned to their employer after the MBA
programme. Despite economic turmoil,
notice that the percentage of pre-
graduation acceptance is significantly
higher compared to last year.

chosen to place a high value, next to
salary, on joining companies in roles or
industries where the improvement upon
sustainable business practices is of
primary concern.
