New MCX pharmacy hours of operation

Effective Feb. 1, the MCCS Exchange Pharmacy aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

will change their hours of operations.After carefully evaluating the volume of prescriptions filled

at this location, pharmaceutical resources will be best utilized at the main hospital pharmacy.

For the majority of patients, business as normal will occur. For those who currently utilize the

MCX Pharmacy on Sundays will still have the option to have prescriptions filled on Sundays

on base at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune Pharmacy between 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

Hours of operations at the NHCL Pharmacy will be:

Monday-Friday 8 p.m.-8 a.m.

Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Hours of operation at the MCX Pharmacy will be:

Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Explanation of Significant Differences

Installation Restoration Program Sites 16, 63, and 80

Marine Corps Installations East Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

The Navy and Marine Corps Installations East Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (MCIEASTMCB

CAMLEJ) have prepared an Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD) for Installation Restoration

Program (IRP) Sites 16, 63, and 80 to document changes to the remedies identified in the Record of

Decision (ROD) documents for these sites. Below is a summary of the changes for each site.

Site 16 Montford Point Burn Dump Based on results of previous investigations, no remedial

action was the selected remedy in the 1996 ROD. Due to the sites history as a dump and

because waste remains in place, the Base implemented land use controls (LUCs) in 20012002

for conservativeness. This ESD documents LUCs for soil and groundwater as the remedy inplace.

Site 63 Verona Loop Dump Based on results of previous investigations, no remedial action with

LUCs for groundwater was the selected remedy in the 1997 ROD. The groundwater LUCs were

implemented in 20012002. These LUCs remain protective; however, this ESD documents the

implementation of additional LUCs for soil to prevent exposure to waste inplace.

Site 80 Paradise Point Golf Course Maintenance Area Based on previous investigations, no

remedial action was the selected remedy in the 1997 ROD. Due to the potential presence of

pesticides in soil, the Base implemented LUCs for conservativeness in 2007. This ESD documents

these LUCs for soil as the remedy inplace for Site 80.

This ESD and previous investigation reports for Sites 16, 63, and 80 are contained in the Administrative

Record for MCIEASTMCB CAMLEJ. The Administrative Record is available on the internet at
