Six Years of Partnership
Background
• Inspired by Victoria’s Project Unity Committee• Formed in fall of 2007 - after exploratory
meetings with reps of 11 Mid-Island clubs• 20 member clubs in 2012-13• Each club has contributed a fixed amount per
year to a “pool” of funds allocated by the Group to specific projects eligible for RF matching grants (amount is $600 for 2013-14)
• Meets every 4-6 weeks in Nanaimo
Purposes of the Group
• Improve capacity of member clubs to sponsor or otherwise support international projects
• Improve understanding of RF requirements• Create opportunities to support larger higher-
impact projects eligible for RF grants• Identify opportunities for members to work as
volunteers on international service projects• Elevate the profile of Rotary’s international work
among mid-island Rotarians & the general public

Accomplishments
• Completion of 21 projects over 6 years• Humanitarian needs met in communities
within 10 countries (Belize, Bolivia, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Peru &Uganda)
• MIG funds of $47,800 CAD “leveraged” to enable projects costing a total of $512,000 USD
