Rotary Global ScholarshipDistrict 7710• Rotary's (Ambassadorial) Scholarship program, founded in 1947, was a program of The

Rotary Foundation that ended in 2013 after supporting nearly 38,000 men and women studying in institutions throughout the world. Although District 7710 has not participated in the Foundation's restructured scholarship program for the past several years, the District will once again offer a Global Scholarship for graduate study abroad in the 2017-18 academic year.

• The purpose of the Global Scholarship is to further international and peaceful relations among people of different cultures and races while, pursing a graduate program of study at an institution of higher education in a foreign country.

• The scholarship is funded in the amount of $30,000 to include tuition, books, travel, and living expenses. Priority is given to fields of study in one of Rotary's six areas of focus.

• The deadline for submitting a Global Scholarship application is April 30, 2016 for the 2017-18 academic year. Completed applications must initially be submitted to the club president of a local Rotary club for review and approval. The District Scholarship Committee will interview all recommended candidates on August 8, 2016 and name a scholarship recipient.

Sullivan received his Master of Science in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, England. He says, "If I had not received this scholarship then I would not have had the chance to study at Oxford. I would not be the person that I am now. Thank you. I will spend the rest of my life trying to pay back the investment you have made in me."IPTC – Creator: Alyce HensonIPTC – Credit: © Rotary International
