What a full meeting we had last week. Robert Hicks spoke eloquently and passionately about his role as CEO of GIFSA and the work they do within the City and Region.

We had Neville Brown visit us; Neville has moved to Kalgoorlie from Queensland where he was a Rotarian and is a Past President of his club. We also had visiting Rotarian, David Pyke from the Rotary Club of Wodundry. David is incoming Treasurer for his club. David and his wife are holidaying in Western Australia at present, heading for the warmth of the North-West.

This week’s meeting is going to be equally as busy with member Danny Vincent giving his presentation as OIC of Kalgoorlie Police Station. Sadly this will be Danny’s last meeting as he has been transferred to Perth. All good though as it’s a promotion. A position he will take up after some well deserved holidays (does that get me out of a fine Sergeant?).

We will also be presenting cheques to Melissa Sparta-Davies, Radio Lollipop Charity Coordinator, and to Janet Harvey, Manager of Goldfields Women’s Refuge. Janet will be

bringing along eight members of her team for the presentation.

Thank you to members Danny, Cherie, Ken, Charmaine, Narelle and Debra who joined me to do a clean up of our shed at Cruikshanks Arena. It is looking great. A few more bits and pieces and we will look at having a meeting on site when the weather warms up.

Then that night Debra, Narelle, Gloria, George, Lorraine and I enjoyed a great night of laughs at Stage Left’s production of Dimboola.

Kelsey and Lin have been busy organising school visits and activities for the five students arriving from Texas next week. An email was sent out earlier this week, if you would like to join us please let us know for catering purposes.

Kelsey has spoken to the schools about any students who would be interested in nominating to goon exchange in December/January. These nominations close at the end of June so if you know of any students who would be interested, please let Kelsey know.

Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie meets at the Tower Hotel on Mondays at 6.00pm for 6.30pm. Visitors welcome!

JUNE is ROTARY FELLOWSHIPS Month

The club is also seeking expressions of interest from students who would like to participate in a Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Voyage in early December. Again, if you know of any students please speak with Kelsey. There is a closing date after which time interviews will be held and selection of a suitable student will be made.

There is no meeting on 29 June as we will be attending a joint meeting with Boulder and Hannans clubs to hear the presentation from the students from Texas.

From President Esther (cont) ... So this means one more Bulletin from me prior to the Changeover Bulletin after which time Gloria will be providing her column for the Bulletin.

Don’t forget to RSVP to Gloria for Changeover. Gloria and I met today to go through some planning for the evening, it is shaping to be a wonderful night.
