Congratulations to Ken Maisey who was elected as our President Elect for 2016-17. Thank you Ken for putting your hand up. No force was involved, promise! Ken was a very willing volunteer.

What a busy week we have had.

Firstly the Quiz Night. What a monster night that was. Thank you to all the members of the Club for your efforts to make this the best ever result we have had for the night. We raised in excess of$6000 which was well up on the $4000 we raised last year.

Then on Saturday night a number of us went to the Giants basketball game. What a great game it was. All the better for the fact the Giants won.

Monday night our guest speaker was Senior Sergeant Richard Moore OIC Esperance Police. Richard is in Kalgoorlie relieving as Acting Inspector for three weeks. He is going to try and come along to at least one more meeting before heading back to Esperance. Richard is an Esperance Rotarian.

This Saturday morning a group of us will be going to the Club shed at Cruikshanks Sports Arena to give it a good clean out so we can store some of our equipment there. We will muster at 9am. It should not take too long.

Saturday night is another social evening for Club members. We will be going along to the theatre restaurant at Stage Left Theatre to see the production of Dimboola. Should be a great night full of laughs.

Monday night our guest speaker will be Robert Hicks, CEO GIFSA. Robert will be talking to us about his role within the organisation and tell us about the programs run by this essential service in our City.

On 29 June we will be presenting cheques to Kalgoorlie Radio Lollipop and the Goldfields Women’s Refuge. Also on that night our very own Danny Vincent will be giving a presentation on Policing in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Kelsey has been talking with Eastern Goldfields College and John Paul College seeking nominations for a student to participate in a Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation Voyage. All these three groups are being funded with some of the monies raised at the Quiz Night.

Only a couple of weeks now until the five students from Texas arrive on their exchange. As I have mentioned before, thank you to Lin and Kelsey for offering to arrange their itinerary whilst

they are in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for a few days. Thank you to Lin, Debra, Narelle and Sarah who together with George and I will be hosting the students whilst they are here. They arrive in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Tuesday 30 June in the morning. Boulder Club have agreed to host a joint meeting that evening so all the clubs an get to meet the students and hear their presentation.

I’m going to be very secretive here and just let you know I have had a couple of emails this week, completely unsolicited, from some people very interested in coming along to be our Guest Speaker. They are both finalising their itineraries before

From President Esther (cont) ... committing to a date to come to the meeting. You will not be disappointed, I can assure you.

Changeover is fast approaching so don’t forget to keep Saturday 4 July free for this event which will see Gloria take over the reins as our President for2015-16.
