The Halloween Party to End all
Halloween Parties!
Were you there? Every Halloween creature was
there, including some frighteningly masked, bulging-
eyed demons rarely imagined – even in our ghoulish
dreams. A witch, the image of the wicked witch from
The Wizard of Oz; a skeleton or two; a horrific tan-
gled-haired something-or-other, Hello Kitty and,
even, Dr. Ben Carson just barely describe an array
of folks that will haunt your Halloween dreams.
Before the party! The Disaster Preparedness team
met with Crystal Van Beelen from the Department of
Emergency Management, Rock Arakaki and Officer
Joe from the Waianae Coast Rotary Club We agreed
on our first steps in developing East Honolulu’s initia-
tive. Briefly, we will model our efforts after other
clubs, and align ourselves with the Waianae Club
that has successfully implemented their own pro-
grams.
Highlights: Two new Rotarians were inducted. We welcomed Kelli Chun and Erin Palmer to our growing team. Both bring amazing gifts to the organization and we encourage you to get to know them, just as you have graciously welcomed other recent mem-bers. Kelli, weirdly masked, brought down the house with her costume and antics and, by the way, she won the best costume award for women. Lest I for-get, Fabian Lewis – our Dr. Carson - won the best costume award for men. Both costumes were unfor-gettable!
