Imagine if we could take a snapshot capturing all of the work Rotary does on a given day. No one – except Rotarians – would believe that a single organization was capable of accomplishing so much. In that snapshot you would see dedicated volunteers working to eradicate polio, setting up microloans, providing clean water, mentoring youth, and countless other actions. We can do all this thanks both to our geographic reach and to the fact that our clubs are made up of people who are engaged in their communities. As a part of the community that you serve, you know the needs, you have the connections, and you're able to take immediate action. That's why every Rotary club's membership should reflect the diversity of its community. We've made great strides in this. In Egypt, Indonesia, and Kenya, Rotary is approaching 50 percent female membership. We're also expanding the age diversity of our clubs. In each of our communities, young professionals are eager to contribute their talents, give back, and learn from mentors. Let's share with them what Rotary is all about. The Engaging Younger

Professionals Toolkit at Rotary.org has an action plan to help you reach young leaders and Rotary alumni in your area.Another resource that can help us better reflect our communities – one that is global like us, is a quarter-million members strong, and already shares our values of service and leadership – is Rotaract. Rotaractors are our partners: Team up with them on projects, ask them to speak at your events, and invite them to join your club. Dedicated Rotaractors worldwide are becoming members of Rotary and even starting new Rotary clubs while still serving as members of Rotaract.

September has been a very significant month. Projection of Rotary's positive image and reaffirmation of commitment to spreading literacy in society, reaching out a helping hand to flood victims and giving for empowering deprived sections, have been the hallmark of this month. Rotarians of our District always outdo themselves! It was seen in full measure on 25th August during MILLION DOLLAR Fundraiser event at Hotel Shangri La. Very generous Rotarians of our District made commitments of donating nearly 2.5 million US Dollars to Rotary Foundation. Four Rotarians committed to become Arch Klumph Society members by donating 250 thousand US Dollars to Rotary Foundation. PP Satish Gosain of RC Faridabad Midtown, PP Ravi Gugnani of RC Rohtak and PP Rajiv Tulsian of RCD South Central have truly shown that Giving is the Spirit of Rotary! They are showing the way. People and animals have been devastated by the unprecedented floods in Kerala. Our District has responded superbly to their cry for help. Rotary clubs of our District have opened their hearts and have reached out to help the victims through Rotary 3010 Disaster Relief Fund. I am happy to say that Rotary Clubs of our District have contributed very generously towards Kerala flood relief. I give great importance to promoting Rotary's positive image in

society. In response to my call, Rotary Club of New Delhi, on 21st September, celebrated Rotary Day as A celebration of Service. Indeed, Rotary Day calls for celebration, seeing what amazing projects Rotarians have done and are doing to serve society. A bouquet of projects was presented to the public- Blood donation camp, Diabetes check, Dental check, Mammography, Prosthetic limb provisions, to name a few.Our District held District Literacy Meet on 22nd September. The Rotary Foundation supports education through scholarships, donations, and service projects around the world. TEACH (Teacher training, E-learning, Adult Literacy, Child Development, Happy school) gives specific focus to

Dear Megapolis family, Thank you again for your support during the GOV with special thanks to PP Rtn. D.K. Saxena, PP Rtn. Ravi Dayal and Jyotsna, Rtn. Rupa and of course Charu. The Stalwarts Rtn. Sandeep Dewan & Rtn. Bhupesh Khanna stepped up voluntarily and kudos for that. I was specially happy to note the appreciation by DG of the Club Report Book made with lot of effort by us as well as the newsletter. He praised the standards of our Club and I reiterate that good projects, activities, service before self attitude and giving is what Rotary is all about. And fellowship is a means to facilitate doing so jointly.Only fellowship does not decide the standard of a Club. The venue set up with 2 Backdrops, 6 standees and other decorations and the program made it a memorable GOV – even for the District Team attending 80 clubs. We have a busy October calendar which will be successful by member participation. The Great Delhi Run planned on October 21 is coming up and given us some motivation for healthy activity. And the Fellowship on December 28 will be a curtain raiser for the forthcoming festivals. Wishing you all the best of health and a joyous festive season.

Dear Mega Family,It was indeed a pleasure to have DG Vinay Bhatia and the District team at our GOV. The encouragement that we get from the Distt. Team and the club members help us to work better towards society. As we Rotarians are so very active that if we plan to do something I am sure we will deliver more than we promise. As we know, Waste Management is a huge problem. For proper waste management we should manage and control it starting from our homes. Tonnes & tonnes of kitchen waste is collected but hardly recycled. If we Rotarians start making “Home Compost” from the kitchen waste and use it in our own garden or distribute it to the neighbourhood parks / garden we can contribute in a small way towards society.Personally, I am making 'home compost' in my Home Garden and use it in the plants at home. To my surprise the plants are much happier!!Flowering plants are in full bloom and vegetables in the vegetable garden are of good quality, tastier, healthier and in abundance than before. Best part is “No Pesticides” are used – it's Totally Organic. If anyone wants more details please do get in touch with me anytime.

I request all Rotarians to segregate home waste and use kitchen waste to make home compost and take this waste management project forward “Happy Home Composting!!”
