My Dear friends in rotaract

It is always my pleasure to pen down my message to address the rotaract

fraternity. But this message is very special and I feel proud to share my

thoughts to you through the KINSHIP because this will be my first message as

the PRESIDENT of the prestigious club Rotaract Club of Zenith. If you have

the passion and urge to achieve what you wish, you just follow your thoughts

with integrity and things will shape up and your wish will become a reality.

Now I am experiencing it by becoming the 18th President of this club,

following my passion in this wonderful movement.

It is still an evergreen memory of attending the first Rotaract meeting during

the first week of July 2005 at Guru Nanak College, where I joined as a green

rotaractor and started my rotaract career. The seed was sown at the right

place and right time, the club which has produced many precious rotaractors

and was instrumental in forming many community based club in our District.

I owe my sincere heartfelt gratitude to all my seniors and faculty coordinator

Prof.Ravikumar in Guru Nanak College who motivated me and my friends to

grow up in rotaract. But for them this journey or transformation would not

have happened.

Moved by the knowledge gained and the passion that we developed on this

movement, we made a decision to join a community based after our college

days. Thanks to the suggestion given by PDRR.Krishnakumar Narayanan and

Past Rotaractor Ashok Kumar Dhariwal to join this prestigious club, The

Rotaract Club of Zenith. When we were still kids in rotaract, we were given

the freedom by our past rotaractors in zenith to perform in our ways, apply

all our thoughts, project ideas, innovative thinking and develop this club.

Without the constant support from all the past rotaractors who had

sculptured the name of Zenith in the history of R.I.District 3230 as a

remarkable club, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to reach such

heights. Also the best wishes and blessing from our parent club Rotary Club

of Madras North East had given us the confidence to march forward without

looking back. The timely support and guidance extended by them is always

worth mentioning and thanking.

The true character of leadership was defined by the PDRR’s with whom I had

worked for the past eight years. I have drawn a great source of inspiration

from each one of them by closely working with them. Hope these learning

will guide me to complete the journey as a President. And the district team

which I was a part of or for which I have been a head has always taught me

the essence of team work and being a good team player.

Last but not the least, I wish to remember and express my gratitude to my

friends at Zenith family and from other rotaract clubs who are with me for

the past eight years. All of you had motivated and supported me at all

growing phases, expecting the same kind of support this year too. I wish the

almighty GOD to give me strength and goodwill to perform my duties.

OTHER NGO PROJECT - RAINDROPS

MATTRAM THEDI:

Raindropss is a youth-based social organization from Chennai

founded by Aravind Jayabal in 2011 which concentrates mainly

on delivering social awareness messages to the public in the

form of Short movies and theme songs through entertainment

and media. Raindropss is the first team in India to spread social

awareness messages to public through theme songs and short

films. A.R.Raihanah (A.R.Rahman sister) is the Brand Ambasador

of Raindropss.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raindropss.

I am more than glad to enunciate certain activities of

RAINDROPSS in the recent past in order to give you a better

picture of our social organization. Our Latest project was theme

song namely “Idhu Namma Bhoomi”, emphasizing saving our

environment. The music was scored by Ms. A R Raihanah, sister

of (Isaipuyal Mr. A R Rahman) and exceptionally sung by various

leading playback singers and the song is already popular among

people. We has also done various short films and theme songs

addressing various social issues such as eye donation, Disability,

Child Education etc and reached the mass in an effective

manner.

We are working on a new project of launching an annual

calendar “Maatram Thaedi – Be the Change 2014” featuring

achievers across various walks of life with a strong social

message in order to raise funds for children living with HIV. The

rationale behind this project is two, firstly it will show the

pictures of achievers whom the common people can take

inspiration from, after all inspiration is caught and not taught;

secondly the proceeds goes towards a noble cause.

We are in the planning to release both wall hanging & Table top

calender.

Calender will be launched on 1st Dec 2013 in Chennai and the

funds collected from the sale would be donated for the

education of children living with

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE PERSON

Confidence is key Our beliefs directly impact our ability to perform at our highest

levels. When we are unsure about whether we can accomplish

something, our attention shifts away from what we need to do

and our performance falters. In contrast, if we believe that we

can win, we put our full attention on our performance.

Superstars deliver great performances because they have this

same belief that they can make the important shots. When "sam

Walton", founder Walmart, was in high school, he was

quarterback of the football team. Even though he was small and

slow and didn't throw the ball well, he found a way to help his

team win. During his years as quaterback, his team was

undefeated and won the state champion ship. in looking back he

has reflected that when they played for the state championship,

he expected to win and this experience has led him to win at

whatever he is doing. We often fail to win because in our hearts

we don truly believe that we can win. Believing that we can win

is challenging.

We must find ways to silence the little negative voices

whispering to us," You can't do that". One way those superstars

drown out those voices and learn to expect to win by

visualization. They start seeing themselves as winners.

Jeffery Bezos, Founder of Amazon. His parent's confidence in

him was so great that they used a large portion of their life

savings to provide him with money to start Amazon. His father

didn’t even know what the internet was but he did expect his

son to win.

Other Superstars find this type of support in colleagues and

mentors. "Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard Company that they

founded. Their partnership began with in a campaign trip to the

San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado after they

graduated from Stanford. Looking back at their decision to work

together, Hewlett facetiously commented, "We trusted each

other not to get lost".

Expecting to win is critical to turning in top performances. When

we are uncertain whether we can do something well, it is like

carrying a dead weight on our backs. It makes it hard for us to

function at our peak.

To become a superstar, we must free ourselves from this weight

by expecting to win. Like them, we can do this on our own,

having family members, friends, and colleagues who also expect

us to win can provide the added boost that we need to rise

above our insecurities.

Rtr.PP.Aravind

Interesting Facts About Taj Mahal !!!

It is estimated to have taken more than 22,000 people to build this impressive building including labourers, painters, stonecutters, embroidery artists, and many others.

According to legend it is believed that Emperor Shah Jahan had planned to construct another Taj Mahal in black marble on the other side of the river but the war with his sons interrupted his plans.

The Taj Mahal takes on different colouring at different times of the day, from a pinkish hue in the morning, milky white in the evening and golden at night when lit by the moon. They say the changing colour resembles the changing mood of females - in particular the Emperor's queen.

Built in memory of the Emperors third and most favourite wife Mumtāz Mahal, the Taj Mahal took 17 years to be completed.

It is said that the death so crushed the Emperor that all his hair and beard were said to have grown snow white within just a few months.

The four sides of the Taj Mahal are perfectly identical creating an astonishingly mirrored image on each side. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and symmetry of architectural elements.

The Taj Mahal is surrounded by significant gardens and a number of other buildings including a mosque and guest houses which make up the 17 hectares of land within the complex walls.

The full height of the Taj Mahal is 171 metres (561 feet).

More than 1,000 elephants were employed to transport the construction materials used to build the Taj.

Many precious stones were ripped off from its walls by the British during the Indian rebellion of 1857.
