Sun 12 May / MOSS AND LANDGATE QUARRIES / A chance to enjoy the scenery of the landscaped quarries and the remaining rock, fossil and heritage features in Moss and Landgate quarries.Meet guide Arthur Baldwin outside Shawforth Chapel off Market Street, Shawforth, OL12 8HD.

Sun 9 June / LEE QUARRY ARCHAEOLOGY TRAIL / A look at the fascinating industrial archaeology trail of Lee Quarry – the key site in the Valley of Stone project and an insight into quarrying on a massive scale.Meet guide Marrian Tattersall behind the Kingfisher Business Park, off Newchurch Rd at Stacksteads (A681) OL13 0BB.

Sun 14 July / THURNS HEAD AND AB TOP / Stone everywhere overlooking the Cowm Valley, A rich heritage walk following an exciting moorland tramway route from Thurns Head to Ab Top. Sun 11 August / CLOUGHFOLD SCRUBBING MILL / Probably the most important industrial archaeology site in Rossendale, the hub of an extensive moorland tramway system linking several quarries. Sun 8 September / WIDDOP RESERVOIR AND DOVE STONES / A rewarding route linking Widdop Reservoir in striking gritstone scenery, to the rocky outcrops of Dove Stones, The Scout, and Raven Stones. Watershed Landscape WalksLonger walks but still at a moderate pace

Sun 26 May / BEARNSHAW TOWER / Descending rugged Greens Clough with its industrial archaeology, and over to the spectacular scenery of Cliviger Gorge, and a return past the historic site of Bearnshaw Tower.Meet guide Arthur Baldwin at the junction of Flower Scar Rd (near to summit), Sharneyford, OL13 9UX.

Sun 23 June / COAL CLOUGH WINDFARM / A richly varied walk on the north slopes of Cliviger Gorge including steep valley scenery at Pudsey Clough, and passing the interesting Coal Clough windfarm.Meet guide Peter Harris at the layby on A646, 1 mile west of Portsmouth. Grid ref SD 889 271.

Sun 28 July / EXTWISTLE MOOR / Fine open moorland and reservoir scenery on the Lancashire Yorkshire watershed. The route includes an impressive stretch of the Pennine Bridleway.Meet guide Marrian Tattersall at Hurstwood Reservoir car park, Hurstwood, BB10 3LH. Grid Ref 882 313.

Sun 25 August / LIMERSGATE AND TROUGH EDGE / A high level route on the north east ridge of Rossendale, tracing part of an important historic pack horse trail ‘Limersgate’, which linked Clitheroe and Rochdale.Meet guide Marrian Tattersall at the junction of Flower Scar Rd (near to summit), Sharneyford, OL13 9UX.

Sun 22 September / GADDINGS DAM AND LANGFIELD COMMON / A high level route in superb Pennine scenery above Calderdale, passing Gaddings Dam and Langfield common, with excellent wide ranging views.Meet guide David Humphries on Myrtle Street car park, Halifax Road, Todmorden, OL14 6JW Grid Ref 937 241.

On your first walk you will be asked to provide an emergency contact number and inform the walk leader of any medical condition that may have a bearing on your ability to complete the walk (please turn up 15 minutes early if this is your first walk).

The guides reserve the right to refuse to take people who, in their opinion, have unsuitable footwear or clothing, or who would not be able to keep up with the pace or length of the walk. This is for safety of the person concerned and the safety of the group.

Whilst every effort will be made by the organisers to ensure the safety of participants and their property, please remember that everyone taking part does so at their own risk.

We regret that dogs are NOT permitted on any of the walks, with the exception of guide and hearing dogs.
