J. H. Norton, chemistry imtructor at the Sacfo Junior College. The contests fake fhe form of competitive writfen esaminafionson the subject matter of elemenfary chpmhtry. All high schools i n the Sacramnto Valhy, as well as fhe Reno and Sparks high schools of Nevada, are eligible to enter teams. Roseville High School teams have won fhe contest in 1930, 1931, 1932, 1934. In addition, members of Rose- vrllc teams have won the individual trophy cup in I929 and 1930. No special coaching i s given Rosevih tern in preparation for the contesfs. The same team won the Pac~xc Coast American Chemical Sociefy confesfin June, 1934. The examination was conducfed by Professor G. Roll~son, Chemistry Department, Univerdy of California.
