Rosehip & Bloom has been formed by Tambuzi to create a

distribution hub in Middle East for their unique range of

scented David Austin and garden roses.

With direct shipments coming from Kenya the Roses will not

come through Holland as was the case before which will

increase the shelve life of the roses and you can be confident

that they will be perfect for your big event.

Shipments will arrive twice weekly and will be available for

weekly standing orders, events and weddings.

TAMBUZI Background

WHO WE ARE

In the mid-1990s, Tim and Maggie Hobbs - a young and dynamic couple

with Kenyan roots, came across a beautiful, derelict farm on the foot hills

of Mount Kenya only miles from the equator. The 64 hectare farm,

originally a dairy and beef farm, was up for sale and with its perfect

conditions for growing roses the Hobbs bought and developed it into what

it is today: a specialist supplier of traditional garden scented roses- the

only one in Kenya.

Today, Tambuzi Ltd. has 25 hectares under horticultural production,

with the rest dedicated to sustainable forestry, bee keeping, vegetables

and livestock. It is also home to Tim, Maggie and their three young

children. Tambuzi is a company driven not just for profit but with the

intention of improving the world around it. The company’s strapline

‘stop and smell the roses’ sends a simple message – to slow down, notice

and enjoy everything around you. The company strongly believes in the

concept of shared values, and it considers the welfare of its employees

and the neighbouring communities to be part of its strength. Tambuzi

uses the best practice methods possible to ensure that there are no

negative impacts on the integrity of the environment. We are proud to

be one of only five ‘gold’ certified members of the Kenya Flower Council.

This deep red garden rose from Meilland is one of the few red roses we have found that opens into a full-quartered cup.

RENE GOSCINNY

This is a strong, salmon-orange rose. It helps to broaden our soft, pastel colour range. It has a very pretty, quartered opening, making it distinctly "garden", with a plethora of tiny petals as it opens its heart. Also long-stemmed (it can be ordered in longer lengths), this rose is a trendy colour for the 2014 season.

One of our most popular varieites, and not just because of its wonderful scent. Our florist customers find that the mix of cerise and white in the abundant petals allows it to sit comfortably in many different bouquets.

Vitality has so many attributes that it is hard to know where to start. The abundant ivory petals with citrus tones open into a classic rose shape. Such a impressive rose is also graced with an equally strong fresh scent. A winner in our books.

WHITE O'HARA

Broad citrus overtones level out into hints of green apple. White not quite, with a green outer and a baby-pink inner-core. This is a very strong rose for all occasions. It goes well with the other whites in our palette. A very strong performer, opening nicely into a cupped, quartered centre. The shape is somewhere between classic tulip and full-cupped garden, this rose had a firm place and loyal following in our collection.

Parfumella by name, perfumed by nature. This glorious ivory rose has a great deal of wow factor. It is long stemmed and densely petalled with a sensational fragrance. Everything you are looking for in a scented rose.
