…May Chen, and Thao Tran, reminiscent of a Beyonce music video, while “Dance Dance Evolution,” a masterfully-executed dance from Bryant Lee, Michael Chuang, and Brian Arriola was equally entertaining. To top off the night were the Rho Pi Guys, a chorus made up of all the men of the fraternity, singing a rousing rendition of Richard Marx’s “Right Here Waiting” while presenting the second years with red roses. All in all, formal was a fun and memorable way to kick off the start of pharmacy spring break and we wish the best of luck to the second years as they embark on their new journeys at their respective rotation sites!

Rho Pi Phi had a great time at the VNCares Health Fair! The brothers worked hard in putting together a Warfarin Education board that entailed all the necessary information about the medication. At the event we helped educate patients on Warfarin (Coumadin), which is an anticoagulant medication used among many with atrial fibrillation and heart conditions, including stroke. At the health fair we were able to speak to patients about the side effects and concerns regarding this drug, and specific things to look out for, for example their diet. We were very fortunate to have our alumnus and incredible support Richard Pigao with us for a portion of the day. He answered our many questions and taught us a lot about our topic. Now I know more about Warfarin than ever before! Overall, it was a great success and just another example of Rho Pi Phi reaching out.

Exactly one month after pinning, Rho Pi Phi successful finished the 21st pledging season by initiating the Manganese class into the fraternity of lifelong brotherhood. The ceremony took place on March 25th in Morris Chapel with a reception to follow in Raymond Great Hall. Rho Pi Phi is glad to have the addition of 34 new brothers. There has not been a class this big since the initiation of the Neon class in ’98. There is so much potential in each and every member that has crossed so, we look forward to all the ideas, innovations, and success they will be able to add to Rho Pi Phi.
