Rolene knew that for her to obtain the abi l i ty to reach her goals and become a role model , she had to lead a balanced l i fe. She has had an interest in academics, sport and leadership since a young age and was determined to do her best in everything she put her mind to. Rolene was chosen as head gir l of VolksrustHigh School , she was also part of the South Afr ican Bokkie netbal l team who traveled to New Zealand in her f inal year of high school and she sti l l loves playing gol f wi th her loved ones.

Rolene had the opportunity to embark on a model l ing career at the age of 14 when she won El i te Model Look South Afr ica and thereafter travel led to Prague, Par is, Hamburg and Maur i tius for model l ing when she was 16 years old. Through this exper ience Rolenecame to the real isation that she would rather pursue the journey of becoming a role model instead of the def ini t ion of a model in the fashion industry.

She decided to commence her medical studies and enter Miss South Afr ica when the time ought to be r ight. Medicine has always been her choice of career and her f inal high school resul t average of 92% enabled her to study medicine at the Universi ty of the Free State.

During Rolene’s medical studies, she had the opportunity topartake in the Miss South Africa competi tion, this was theperfect opportunity to become a role model and give back ona much greater scale. Rolene achieved her goal andbecame Miss South Afr ica in 2014, she also went on torepresent her beautiful country international ly and achievedanother goal of hers when she was crowned Miss World 2014.

Some of the char i table causes Rolene were involved in dur ing her reign as Miss South Afr ica and Miss Wor ld include the fol lowing;

Rolene raised funds and educated young gir ls wi th the "Always Keeping Gir ls in School" project focusing on education regarding g ir ls ' menstrual cycles as wel l as distr ibution of sani tary towels to 300 000 gir ls in 56 schools across al l 9 provinces of South Afr ica.

Under the f lag of Miss Wor ld's Beauty with a Purpose ethos, Rolenehad a wonderful platform to give back through raising $ 3 805 100 with Var iety The Chi ldren's Char i ty Telethon in Des Moines USA, BWAP contr ibuted towards the bui lding of the f i rst c lassroom for chi ldren with Autism in Kingston, Jamaica, as wel l as the bui lding of toi lets at the homes of chi ldren with Autism in Mexico Ci ty Mexico.

Rolene was involved with the One Mi l l ion Tree Project as wel l as the handing out of 100 hear ing devises for chi ldren with hear ing disabi l i t ies with The Rotary Club in Sr i Lanka.

Rolene's passion for heal th and char i ty was further f i red on when she had the opportunity to join forces with Miss Wor ld 2013 to launch the opening of a Paediatr ic Oncology ward at the Phi l ippines General Hospital in Mani la and contr ibute toward a water conservation project in a smal l town cal led Shirpur near Mumbai in India.

Apart from travel ing to more than 20 di f ferent countr ies as Miss Wor ld in 2015, Rolene was also nominated as one of the 'South Afr ican of the Year ' nominees as wel l as one of Glamour 's most Glamorous women in South Afr ica in 2015. Rolene appeared on var ious television and radio shows including South Afr ican shows; Top Bi l l ing, Morning L ive, Expresso Show, Afternoon Express, Ontbytsake, Republ iek van Zoid Afr ika, Koekedoor and Pasel la .

Rolene also appeared on London based TV and radio shows BBC News and Ar iseTV , a Mexico based show cal led Televisa and China based show cal led Hunan TV. Rolene marr ied D'Niel Strauss in February 2016 and together with their fami l ies the Strauss couple launched The Strauss Foundation of which Rolene is the Chairperson. The Strauss Foundation is a Non-Prof i t Enti ty wi th the aim to be a posi tive contr ibutor in society through the promotion of Heal th, Education and Char i ty. I t aims to unlock inherent abi l i t ies of as many individuals as possible.

Rolene's passion would always be heal th and thus the determination to complete her medical studies after two years of travel ing as Miss South Afr ica and Miss Wor ld. Dr Rolene Strauss graduated in December 2017 and now has a medical ( MBChB) degree which br ings her c loser to her l i fe long dream of having a posi tive inf luence on women's heal th in South Afr ica.

Rolene is grateful to be part of a new venture cal led Revi taHealth with her sister in law, Dr Ledivia Strauss on Val de V ie in the Paar l . Revi taHealth , based in the rejuvenating Cape Winelands, is a heal th or ientated organisation providing aesthetic , integrative, anti -ageing and regenerative medicinal services through Dr LediviaStrauss.

Rolene’s main focus in Revi taheal th wi l l be to act in a non-cl inical capaci ty as ambassador for hol istic and preventative women’s heal th through publ ic advocacy and the Revi taheal th Women Summits.

Rolene bel ieves in a balanced l i festyle and appreciates al l the types of blessings l i fe has to offer . One of those being fami ly; Rolene and her husband had a miracle addition to

their fami ly in January 2017 and couldn't be happier . Being a mother , wi fe, medical doctor and women's heal th advocate ensures that Rolene wi l l be wel l on her way to
