Roosevelt Hornet Newsletter

Dear Roosevelt Families, As I write this message, there are only 13 days of school left for our children! It has been a year of many transitions twists and turns. We have weathered the storm of new common core standards, new assessments, new technology, a new funding formula, and even a new principal. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we ride this wave of change.

Please remind your students that their behavior is very important during this time of year and that they are Hornets at all times. Our teachers are working hard to remind students of school protocol, but your extra support really helps.

Thank you for your continued support.

Gifted and Talent Education (GATE) Past practice in SLUSD has been to test all students in grade 3 for Gifted and Talent Education (GATE) in the spring. This year grade 3 students will not be tested; instead all grade 4 students will be tested in the fall of next year. Additionally, we are exploring the possibility of implementing an online test of all GATE testing next year. More information will be forthcoming in Fall 2014.
