ROOS SIGN JURRAH
Dale Fletcher
FORMER Melbourne DemonLiam Jurrah is set to make areturn to the Central AustralianFootball League in season 2013.
The livewire forward signed aplayer registration form lastThursday and will play for theSouth Kangaroos in round one ofthe CAFL on April 7.
South Football Club coachDarren Talbot said the decisionfor Jurrah to play for the Kanga-
roos was easy. ‘‘The reason Liam’s
playing for Souths this year is the
family connection within the
club,’’ he said. ‘‘Just the feeling ofknowing he will have the supportof the players and coaching staffright behind him on what decis-ions he makes.’’
Talbot said he sat down withJurrah and basically asked ‘‘whatwould you like us to do to help youget back on track and the loveconnection for football flowinginto your body once again’’.
‘‘We came to a agreement on
taking one stage at a time andthen build on that as the weeks goby,’’ Talbot said.
‘‘Only Liam knows what Liamwants and basically myself andIan McAdam will support andguide him to the next stage.’’
‘‘This is a bloke who has justcome off the worst year he’s everhad and pressuring or dictatingLiam into doing things is the lastthing he needs on his mind.
The Yuendumu 2008 premier-ship star is on the long road backto restarting his football careerafter being found not guilty ofassault in the Northern TerritorySupreme Court last Thursday.
‘‘People say ‘he has gotta playhere and there’ if he’s to get backinto the system and I’m notagainst that,’’ Talbot said.
