The Northern Dental Education Centre (NORDEC) is a brand new dental education centre based in the Advanced Technology Centre in the heart of Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Part of the Bradford College Group and funded by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, NORDEC offers a wide range of apprenticeships and continuous professional development qualifications for the dentistry profession as well as specialist room hire.

The centre is designed to enhance and further the skills and knowledge of the entire dental team. It is dedicated to the task of training current and future dental professionals, driving clinical standards and improving clinical leadership via unrivalled opportunities for continuous personal and professional development.

NORDEC offers a wide range of continuous professional development courses for the dentistry profession.

APPRENTICESHIPS

Advanced Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing (C&G)•• Provides candidates with the knowledge

and skills to qualify as a dental nurse.

•• Successful candidates can progress to smaller CPD qualifications such as the Level 3 Certificate in Dental Decontamination.

Higher Apprenticeship Dental Practice Manager (2018)•• Equips practice managers or senior

nurses who carry out managerial duties with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to manage a successful dental practice effectively and with confidence.

•• Successful candidates can progress into a number of career paths including practice manager, area manager and regional manager leading to senior management roles.

CERTIFICATES

Level 2 Technical Certificate in Working in Dental Settings (C&G)•• Provide learners with a range of essential

technical and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip them to seek employment or further training within the dental health industry.

•• Successful learners can progress into a number of career paths including dental receptionist, dental decontamination assistant dental support worker or student dental nurse.

Level 3 Certificate in Decontamination (2018)•• Suitable for qualified dental nurses

wishing to specialise in decontamination and also those new to dentistry who may wish to progress to do the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.

•• Successful learners can progress onto qualifications such as the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.
