Afterlifefinal project

What would the products we design look like when they eventually become archeaological findings; and which part of them will survive and be unearthed by new life? These thoughts led me to create a series of four objects that contain the ability to have a second life over time. Each object comprised of two materials with different durability and lifetimes.one of the two would wear or disintergate before the other; leaving the remain-ing material to preserve the object and reveal something new within it.The materials play a different role in each of the pairs I have created; when in one object it assumes the function of the “stronge” one; and in the other object the function of the “weak”.

“Local time” | studio | fourth year

This project deals with the inner-outer home surrounding relations. The vast colorful and material beauty found both in the urban settings and the great outdoors grasp our attention, yet rarely transform into the interior space of the home. this phenomenon occurs mainly because of their rough and massive appearance. These objects allow the exte-rior view to come inside the home. This is to say that through the reversal of the relationships and the hierarchy between the raw materials (old boards and a mixture of soils) that I used, I have created objects that combine the wilderness with the gentleness of the homely esthetics. The fruit bowl completes the circle of life linking earth, wood and its fruits in one object

Home side outOutdoor cooking system

In this project I wanted to combine the coziness filling of cook-ing inside with the compactness needed when cooking outside. The pot handles can be merge into the pot itself and the legs of the stove stand fold and create a very thin surface.

MedidotRuler

This project is a set of three pieces- a ruler; a pencil and an eraser that represent my definition for “local”. The ruler combines the old and new view of the Israeli urban life; and represent the Israeli tendency to address only the immediate need while ignoring the whole complex.
