Benvolio tells Mercutio that there could be a fight. When Tybalt arrives he wants to have a fight with Romeo. Romeo will not fight Tybalt because Tybalt is Juliet’s cousin. Mercutio is very angry and challenges Tybalt. Romeo tries to stop them fighting, but Tybalt wounds Mercutio and then runs away.Mercutio dies and Romeo is very angry. He finds Tybalt and kills him. Then Romeo runs away.Prince Escalus arrives and stops the fighting. Lord and Lady Capulet want Romeo to be killed because he has killed their nephew, Tybalt. Lord and Lady Montague say he should not be killed because Tybalt killed his friend, Mercutio. Prince Escalus changes the punishment from death to banishment. Romeo must leave Verona.
